Magic Band ordering - Can I get a premium band to start?

So, we are planning our first trip since the advent of Magic Bands and FP+.

Must I choose one of the basic colors to get from MDE, or can I specify a Disney-sold premium band, and pay the upcharge?

TIA for any answers. Since our last trip was 4 years ago, the FP+ aspect gives our family a whole new world to learn.

Asked my kids to buy me a purple band while in WDW. They came back with this for me...

They linked it to my MDE account in the store et voila! MB in the system.

How hard is it to get all of your info switched to the graphic band if you purchase one in Disney?

Not hard at all. You just put the number from the back of the band into your MDE under the ticket and magic band section. You can even prebuy the premium bands on the app unless you want a customized one which are only available at MK.

Are these the $30 bands? Can they be re-used? I wouldn't mind paying $30 if I could use it again and again, but we only come from the UK about once every 18 months or so.

:cool1:OK-I followed the link on the picture to the website and they seem to be around $20. My other question about how long they last still stands though. And can you buy them as gifts for other people still to come to WDW? We come 9 weeks today :yay::banana::cheer2::bounce::jumping3::woohoo:party::dance3:(sorry for the excitement) and I would like to gte bands for my DSis and DNeph who come in August?

The battery is reportedly good for 3 years or more... and it's the slimmer, less bulky design too!

Also, the battery is really only needed for long-range uses like ride photos or so that the CMs can find your table at BOG. It isn't needed for getting into the parks or using FP+.

I never knew that- always wondered what would happen if the battery went flat just as you got back to your room at midnight..

Yes; tell the CM you are purchasing them in the Link It Later mode and you'll be able to gift them to others.

Thanks for that. It will be a nice gift for them both-its their first holiday without my elder nephew so it will be nice to do something good for them before they go
