Havent been to disney for a couple of years - and we are staying off sight. We are purchasing genie plus and maybe a couple lightening rides so it sounds like it would be a PITA to just show everyone's stuff on my phone. I honestly hate pulling stuff up on my phone on the spot - i always have issues. I think I probably have a few old magic bands from previous trips but I dont knows whose is whose etc. We are arriving on a friday and likely going to disney springs the first day. I could order some online or we could all pick them out someplace at disney springs. How do we get them linked to us? DO we do that when we enter the park the first day?

With regard to your old magicbands, if you ordered them online and had Disney send them to you (as was the case when you got them free with your Disney hotel stay), they would have a name printed inside. Even if there is no name, they will have a 12-digit ID number on the inside. When you look up your "My MagicBands and Cards" under the My Disney Experience tab on the Disneyworld website, it will list the magicbands by number for each person's MDE account. See this webpage. That should help you figure out whose is whose.

If you decide to buy new magicbands anyway, you can ask the employees at the store to help you link them or can do it yourself by logging into MDE and adding the magicbands' 12-digit numbers at this webpage. You should do it before you arrive at the park entrance on your first park day. That will let you use your magicbands to enter the park.

While I've listed the webpage links, I'm sure it can be done using the app too. I'm referring to MagicBands, not MagicBand+, which may be the same or may be different. I don't have a MagicBand+

and you can use those for my genie plus?
Sure.

There are three forms of ticket media at Disney parks right now. All will work for scanning at park entrances and Lightning Lane (Genie+) entrances:

MagicBands
MagicMobile on a phone or Apple Watch
Plastic Ticket cards

You can get ticket cards at any ticket window or guest services, or even at the entrance tapstyles (although to be courteous, I would do it at a window, to avoid holding up people behind me in line).
