Magic Band Confusion

I bought Magic Bands for upcoming trip. We had booked a room under our DVC membership and then added tickets. In the MDE, are those bands I purchased automatically linked to that reservation and ticket purchase? I then added a few nights before our DVC stay to CSR resort. Room Only. On MDE it says that that reservation is not linked to any Magic Bands. Can I link that? And if so, how do I do that?

Depends on how you bought the bands...if you ordered through MDE then they should automatically link. If you ordered through shopDisney then you will have to manually add the bands. Either way, to manually link on the website, just go to “My MagicBands and Cards” and scroll all the way to the bottom. Click Link and the back of the band will have a code that you can enter there.

Thank you! I did order them through MDE. And I tried to Link them but they say the numbers are wrong. I pulled them from MDE, the numbers. Are there different numbers on the bands themselves to actually link? I don't have the actual bands with me now.

The bands themselves have codes, on the back of the Mickey head.

So I need the physical bands, then I go to Link, then enter those codes and then it should link my bands to my room reservation? Thank you for your help!

All MagicBands linked to your MDE profile will work for any room reservation that's linked to the same MDE profile. You don't need to do anything extra for this to happen.

On my MDE plans page by the CSR reservation it says "You Do Not Have New MagicBands Associated With This Disney Resort Hotel Stay" but the bands are on my bands page that hopefully are linked to my tickets and my BWV reservation.

If the bands are listed on the bands page you are good to go. The bands link to your account not a specific resort or ticket.

That doesn't matter. The bands are linked to your account. The resort reservation is linked to your account. And the tickets are linked to your account. The bands simple "unlock" access to your account, which allows the system to see your room and tickets; unlocking your door or turning the tap-stiles green.

I think it’s just trying to tell you that if you want to order MBs at discount prices because of the CSR reservation, you can. But as others have said, the MBs that are already linked to your MDE will work just fine at CSR.
