Hello fellow Disers, so, I booked a 4 night stay in July at Caribbean Beach Resort with a 5 day park hopper ticket. I have two friends who will be joining me on separate nights. They each have 2 day park hopper tickets. Friend one will be staying with me on the first two nights of the stay, friend two will be staying with me the next two nights. I know they don't get to customize them online, however will they get Magic Bands when we check-in to Caribbean Beach Resort and let the Cast Member know the situation?

Thank you for the help :) :groom:

I could be wrong.... but I'm fairly certain that they have to be on the resort reservation to get the Magic Bands. Which would mean adding them to your MDE and reservation (which wouldn't work in your situation because everyone on the reservation has to have the same stuff (ie: tickets) Unless you are getting your tickets separate from your package)

Anyways, they will need to buy their magic bands when they arrive. I think they sell them at DTD for like $12 or $13

IMO your guests should get a Magic Band (for free) if they register at the front desk of your Disney resort. The lobby staff have Magic Bands on-hand. They might only be the grey ones. I have registered a guest for a few days in my room during my resort stay, prior to MBs. In my case, there were already 2 in our room, so I had to pay $15 per nite (at POR) for the extra adult. Other than that, she was treated as any other registered Disney resort guest and received a KTTW card (2 years ago). If they need Magical Express, it is available to them, if they have been registered at your resort.

Thanks for the info! :) hopefully they get the magic band when we check in and I inform the cast member that I have guests staying with me at the resort. If not, $13 isn't too bad, I'll get them their own magic bands.

Do they sell the magic bands at the resorts or just at the parks?

Here's a list of places selling Magic Bands. They are all WDW locations. I read a later article that MBs were now sold in 2 places at MCO, but can't locate the story. http://www.wdwmagic.com/other/mymag...-you-need-to-know-about-buying-magicbands.htm

Edited to add: Just found it! It was at the bottom of the first story. Here's the additional places selling MBs. http://www.wdwmagic.com/other/mymag...-sales-to-begin-in-off-property-locations.htm

Why would they need the magic bands? Can the front desk just give you an extra KTTW card that will just unlock the door to the room?

Just FYI, in order to use EMH they have to be on your room ressie. No clue how you do that with one coming in and then a new one coming in half way through the trip though.

If you're the only person currently on the reservation, you should be able to add friend#1 right now by calling reservations. When friend#2 arrives, I think it just takes a trip to the front desk to get them on the reservation (at least that's what I had to do once pre-MB)

Being proactive, make sure your friends have their MDE accounts set-up so they can attach their park tickets and it'll make it a little easier to copy your fastpass selections.

If OP has a package with dining & tickets, adding first friend now would mean that person would have to have package items. If friend #1 is added less than 72 hrs before check-in, or when he/she arrives at the resort, the package elements aren't applied. OP mentioned her friends already had their own tickets anyway.

To stacyeileen, no one is absolutely required to have MB. A plastic card from Disney Resort can be used instead, which would also hold ticket info and room key. Off-site guests can just use their RFID tickets to enter theme park. MB not necessary.
