magic band and Disney cast member as DVC guest

We have a trip planned for February with DH, myself, a friend and her son. Her son recently got chosen for a professional internship at Disney I received our 4 magic bands and didn't set up any FP+ reservations, as her son won't need a ticket, and we didn't want to make reservations for just 3 of us, when the 4 of us should be together. Currently our friend's son is listed on our reservation at BWV, and will be included in our dining plan.

I understand the legacy FP machines are being phased out, and I understood from someone I spoke to within the past month or so (but can't remember who I talked to) that cast member IDs were not currently being linked to the magic bands.

I'm wondering if this means all our rides together will have to be standby.

Has anyone else had this situation recently?

At this time, all your assumptions are correct. No booking of Fastpass+ if using a CM entry ticket or pass.
