Magic Band 4th pass scenario using relatives band

My husband and I are going to Disney with my mom, infant and a toddler. We are figuring that my mom and the infant will be headed back to the resort around lunch or after lunch, on most days; and maybe join us again later in the day. I will probably sometimes go back with my mom to the resort, but probably head back to the parks without her or the baby. Anyways, my question is that could I bring my mom's arm band into the park and use it for extra FPs that we could use? Would she be ok being at the resort with my infant, who should have a magic band? My mom should be able to access our room and the areas of the resort with my infant's arm band. I'm thinking I shouldn't even bother doing this, and that this is a bad idea. I would doubt my mom would need to use Disney transportation so she shouldn't need her band for that. Our vehicle will also be in the parking lot of the resort, if for some odd reason she needed to go somewhere with the baby. Even if we could do this, we'd have to ride alone and without the toddler, who the vacation is all centered around. So this a pointless idea probably? My husband likes to ride on the roller coasters and such, and I wouldn't mind waiting with the toddler, if he could get a FP. I would like a pass for Splash Mountain, but I doubt you get a 4th FP to those rides.

If it will open the room door, that's all that is needed.

Yes I think this would work. Howeve it may be more trouble than its worth. The kiosk lines when I was there was longer than the standby lines. I believe you can do baby swap for the big rides so the second parent wouldn't have to wait again anyway.

The information on that link is a bit dated- I've read nothing in months that would suggest you'll have a problem if everyone doesn't have a fp+. That was a problem reported a handful of times, early on, but seems to have solved itself. You should never be required for anybody but the first set of riders to have a fp+. I've checked a lot of sources and I don't think the baby's MB will work for FP+.

As far as someone needing to keep their own band "at all times" I see nothing imperative about
keeping one's own band. It's like a park ticket. Heads of parties have been holding everyone else's
tickets in her/his bag or pocket for decades with no ill effects (other than a bit of sometimes inconvenience.)

I just meant for room access and charging privileges as they'll be splitting up and not always together.

All MagicBands work at the FP kiosks for SDFPs whether they are linked or not to an MDE account.

That sounds like it might be correct, but I can't find info that says a MB for an infant will work for FP+,
day-of or otherwise.

All I can find is that a MB issued to an infant will not do anything but open the resort door.

Is there something in that giant "extra MBs for day-of" thread that says an infant's MB WILL work to book day-of FP+?
Or, has someone here actually made day-of FP+ DIRECTLY using an infant's MB?
If it worked, that would give EVERY party that included an infant with a MB
3 extra FP+ at a kiosk upon entry to a park.

Yes to both questions. Posters in that thread have confirmed MagicBands issued to babies (anyone 2 years-old and younger) are valid for the SDFPs. Others have reported MagicBands purchased off the shelf and tapped at the FP kiosk also activate the FP selections.

That's why I believe the OP should just use the baby's MB as it won't have the charging privileges activated but will work at the FP kiosks.
