Magic back in the med for summer 13

I wonder what the prices will be? Some of the cruise prices were looking quite scary :scared1:

thanks for the heads up!

i see that booking starts on january 26.
i'm also curious what the fares will be..

i have a deposit sitting in DCL that i've been pushing from reservation to reservation ..

i just don't think i'm going to be able to get to the states for a cruise, so maybe i can put that deposit towards a med cruise....
but if they're insanely expensive, i'll have to pass..

i see from the DCL website that they're going to Croatia - very cool
and to Greece - also very cool...
and to turkey - not so cool...i won't go to turkey if they pay me...

so i don't know if i'll be able to do any of their cruises....i'll wait and see what the itineraries are......

DD's alaska cruise this summer started out because i told her she could use my deposit towards an alaska cruise..
and she was all ready to book with DCL when we realized that the DCL alaska cruises this summer are the absolute worst of all the cruise companies, so she ended up booking with RCCL (a MUCH better itinerary than on DCL)...
so i still have that deposit to spend....

Pah! I'd have been interested in a totally eastern med cruise rather than a choice of the cruise I did last year or the cruise I did last year with a bit of eastern med tacked on!

Added to that there would only be the 25th July one (baring in mind school holidays) that I could do of the longer cruises to avoid just doing the cruise I did last year (not that it wasn't great).

Maybe if it had been one of the new ships I'd have been tempted more but as it is I'll be sticking with my fantasy sailing in 2013 for now

The starting prices are in the article.

Rates start at $796 per person for four-night cruises, $1,015 per person for seven-night cruises and $2,244 for 12-night cruises departing from Barcelona for a standard inside stateroom, based on double occupancy.

I've had my heart set on Venice since the rumours started but it's not going to happen at those prices. :sad1:

And I didn't see the prices, definite no no, we have a 6b on the fantasy western Caribbean for $3600 for 2 adults 1 infant. Even adding in wdw and flights it would be a close run thing, whereas we went on the magic in the med last year as a 'cheaper' option!

I hope our next cruise is on the older ships, the Dream carries twice as many people yet the pool is half the size, nowhere to have a relaxing drink in the evening like the older ships and food was a bit too arty on the Dream.
Still great cruising but prefer Magic or wonder myself.

Hi Wayne, the Wonder will be doing Bahamas and Caribbean cruises from Miami in 2013, maybe that will tempt you? :)

Would love to do the Panama Canal cruise but I think they may be a bit too expensive for us!

I think we may be looking at doing the 7 night European cruise, will have to have a look at the prices when they are out.

I can't see us cruising Disney again for a few years, they have got too expensive for me just now. I didn't even put a deposit down last cruise.
Last year I paid $1,600, same cruise, same inside cabin this year $3,296, same dates with RCCL in an outside cabin $1,284.
I know things increase but to double in 1 year is just too much.

I love the Magic and Wonder too, but just like something new I guess, be it itinerary or ship (or both in this case). Not to mention probably having a verandah for the first time too.

Maybe someday we will get to do DCL but it will not be anytime soon at those prices.

As with everything else to do with holidays if you can go out of season the cost is drastically lower, in Oct you can do 7 nights cruising in outside cabin for same price as 4 nights inside cabin in August.

If we could forgo a summer holiday until later in the year this might be possible.

Gutted - I had my heart set on this for next summer as we had such an amazing trip last year ... but as a teacher my dates are fixed, and I have to be back by A level results day - so there are only two cruises I could actually do ... the 12 day to Venice which is way out of my price range (starts at $2244 each) or the 4 day which seems very over-priced at $796 each plus it hits the same ports we did last summer (and Palma was our least favourite). Looks like its back to the drawing board :(

I was so excited when I spotted this post! I had finally persuaded my DBF to take a Disney med cruise only to discover that they weren't running this year, and now at those prices I won't be on to a winner next year either even with a little faith, trust and pixie dust...ah well I'll just keep saving

Just priced up the cruise, :scared1: price is a little steep, however the deposit is around 20%, :scared1::scared1:

I would be tempted if it weren't for the deposit.

Do they not realise it's just been Xmas :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Yep, $10,000 for the 12 night Med in July, $6000 more than our April Caribbean on the fantasy. Think I'll be sticking to that...
