Magic as Wide as a smile!10/28 Trip Report Link!!!!

I presented him with the dollar number and I also let him know that I had almost ½ of the amount saved. I’ve been doing a little bit of business on ebay and etsy and have been saving all the $$ to be “Funny Money”

I held my breath and he said YES!!!

Say whaaa ?!? How did I miss this? Ya-hoo!! :dance3:

10/19 will be Food and Wine fun!!!! So I tired for an ADR at Le Cellier. I knew I wasn’t going to get it but I had to try. No luck!

:rotfl: I wish they would make this place bigger!!!

So, I got a 4:30 ADR at

San Angel! But I wasn’t really sure about this ADR. I’m not sure DH would be happy with the menu. He tends to be picky and not adventurous! So, I decided to cancel it the other day! I'm going with no ADR and lot of F&W fun! If need be we can grab a CS meal or take a break and head to Beaches and Cream!

Poor San Angel... I hear the same thing (myself included) again and again. Want to try it, but in the end "nope".

I won’t be eating what MEK’s DH Denny ordered though. It looked something like the guy on the right

:lmao::lmao::lmao: Ha! I remember that! Still creepy!

Phew!!! Our trip to WDW has been planned! But will there be changes?

:banana::banana::banana:

I'm dizzy!

Did you waitlist for the other resorts for those dates? bummer about SSR again :(

:lmao: I was dizzy when I was done! :rotfl2:

I thought about waitlisting. But, I couldn't decide where. I wanted to stay at Boardwalk but Kidani kept calling me home. I hemmed and hawed and decided to stick with what I got. SSR is beautiful but I wanted to try someplace new. I can live with SSR for a trip to WDW!

That's not to say I won't change it if I can though...

Holy Moly! That was some planning.

I'm bummed about SSR. Maybe you should jump on a waitlist...???

:lmao: It was like a whirling dervish of WDW planning, I kid you not!!

I thought about waitlisting but, like I said to Cynthia, I can suck it up to go to WDW! But, calls to DVC MS maybe made ;)

Say whaaa ?!? How did I miss this? Ya-hoo!! :dance3:

You need to keep up sister! :rotfl2: Just kidding!

:rotfl: I wish they would make this place bigger!!!

They should! A 2nd story or something!!

Poor San Angel... I hear the same thing (myself included) again and again. Want to try it, but in the end "nope".

San Angel is getting no love! The menu just screamed "DH won't like it!" to me and after a really bad Mexican Food experience a few weeks ago I think I'll steer clear for now!

:lmao::lmao::lmao: Ha! I remember that! Still creepy!

That was the most frightening dinner ever! I can't even believe they served it like that!

:banana::banana::banana:

:banana::cool1: I'm sooooo excited!!!

*** I'll be back soon with another TR update and a Dec update! ADR day for Dec is fast approaching!

For now I have to take DS7 to dentist! He has to have 2 teeth pulled! We tried a little over a week ago and he freaked out! He couldn't have it done! Luckily the dentist is fabulous and he seems ok today!

Wish me luck!

The plans look great. One thing you might keep in mind about that Plaza though is that it is really fairly inexpensive, as in not really much more expensive than the counter service restaurants in the MK. I love it though. You might just be better off paying for that meal OOP.

YAY for a couples only trip in October WOOT WOOT!!! That sounds just like what the doctor ordered! So...do you have any dates in mind yet for October?? I love Food and Wine time at Disney and I'm so looking forward to getting back!!!!

Congrats on the trip planned and the ADRS booked. Awesome time of year to be going.

I know how you feel about the same resort twice. SSR is my home resort, but I am on a mission to try ALL the resorts. It's funny though, when I visited DTD on our May trip I gazed across the water at SSR and really missed it. So I guess I am glad that is my home resort after all and if I end up there next May with the soccer moms, I will be cool with it!

That picture of the fish CRACKS ME UP! :rotfl2: There was, and still is, a striking similarity between that fish and Denny's dinner!!!!! :rotfl2:

:rotfl2: Denny's fish dinner!!! That is spot on!! :lmao: That fish really freaked me out and is forever burned into my memory!!

I am soooooo excited for your trip!!!! Although you leave right before I get there!!! :sad1: When I came back from my May trip I was hyperventilating over being tickerless so I had to plan a new trip! I did the same thing you did....looking at October and getting waitlist offers....I am not a lucky person and would be a nervous wreck if it didn't come through :sad2: SSR was available as you said but I am going by myself and can see spending a lot more time at the resort and honestly didn't want to hang out at the SSR pool etc...so I got a savanna view studio for the 24-29 at Kidani. Home sweet home :lovestruc I used miles for the flight and so that was free too. I still might end up bringing someone if I chicken out on the solo part! :rotfl2:
I loved going in October last year...the weather was so great and it was starting to turn cold here in the NE....F&W was THE BEST!! And of course MNSSHP was so much fun.
Great ADR's too!! :thumbsup2 I ended up going with Le Cellier for a late lunch one day....can't pass that up!! :woohoo:

Tracy

Phew, that *was* a crazy morning! Glad you got everything settled, even if some of it wasn't your first choice. :goodvibes

I was going to second the idea of the DVC resort waitlist! I've waitlisted twice and got what I wanted both times. :thumbsup2

I don't think SSR is so much unpopular as it is HUGE!! Especially when you compare it to Boardwalk and Beach Club Villas... which are always hard to get in the Fall when the F&WF is just a stroll away. You may have better luck waitlisting for Kidani....

It's so exciting to have a trip to plan, no matter where you end up staying!

Thanks! Now you have me thinking about Plaza. Hmmm, well our plan for that day maybe changing anyway so we;ll see how everything works out!

Oct 18-22! I'm soooo excited!

Congrats on the trip planned and the ADRS booked. Awesome time of year to be going.

I'm so, so excited for this trip!

I'm really ok with SSR! Really, it's perfectly lovely and it's in WDW, so that's all I need!! That's not saying that I won't be calling to see if anything has opened up elsewhere;)

LOL!!! That fish was one of the scariest looking meals ever!

:rotfl2: Denny's fish dinner!!! That is spot on!! :lmao: That fish really freaked me out and is forever burned into my memory!!
LOL!!! :rotfl2: I can't even believe that fish! It's burned into my memory too! Perhaps I should print out the picture and take it with me. That way I can tell them I don't want that for dinner!

I am soooooo excited for your trip!!!! Although you leave right before I get there!!! :sad1:

I know!!! Booo!!! I saw your ticker and got all excited then I looked at the calendar :sad2:

When I came back from my May trip I was hyperventilating over being tickerless so I had to plan a new trip! I think DVC makes it much harder not to have the next trip in planning! :lmao: You know DVC is there and ready to use and you gotta use it!

I don't think I can do the waitlist thing either! I'd be freaking out everyday until it came through!

I'm ok with SSR but we'll see if anything opens up ;)

Great ADR's too!! :thumbsup2 I ended up going with Le Cellier for a late lunch one day....can't pass that up!! :woohoo:

I knew I wasn't going to get Le Cellier! But, I had to try! The guy at MS said everyone ask for that one! I hope I get it for December! ADR day is Monday!

I'm kinda nervous to waitlist, especially because I'm thinking of paying oop for one night to save a few points. I know cash works different. I've never waitlisted before, do I have to give up my ssr reservation?

I think your probably right! It is soooo huge! I really don't see being able to get a reservation at an epcot resort at this point! I know if I had a reservation there during F&W I wouldn't cancel it for just about anything! Ahh Kidani!! My home! It's still calling my name...

It's so exciting to have a trip to plan, no matter where you end up staying!

You're so, so right!!!!

Are you ready for some updates?!

I actually kinda have 3 for you!! Are you proud of me? I’m rocking this report after my hiatus!!

I have a personal update, a PTR update and a TR update!!! I’m going to make it 2 separate posts to make it a little less confusing! This one is going to be personal and PTR, the next will be TR!

So, this trip is now officially the personal update post!

It will be brief; I just wanted to share my pictures from last weekend!

Our littlest DS turned 3 on Sunday! He had a great day and got lots of great presents! He especially loved his Toy Story stuff and his Mickey Mouse Clubhouse bike!

In PTR news now that the trip is secure DH and I were talking the other night and we decided to do something we’ve never done a before!

Rent a car!!

SSR is soooo huge and I wasn’t too fond of taking the buses through SSR last year. DH wasn’t completely sold on the idea but I explained that we could stop at the grocery store if we wanted and I thought it would be great to be able to just throw our luggage in the car on the last day and go straight from the park to the airport, no going back to the resort to catch ME! I also reminded him that we could get a discount on a car through a professional organization he belongs to. So he was sold!

Now I just have to figure out this driving in WDW thing!

We’ll be bringing our GPS and, of course, I’ll be researching enough over the next 4 months to write a book when I’m done.

MEK do you have any rental car or driving within WDW advice?!

Now on to a TR update...

We headed back to MK via the monorail and soon found ourselves on Main Street!

DH needed a bio break. Ho hum. DH is famous for his bio breaks! Poor guy!

We had 2 objectives for the evening. Get BIL, Justin and Jule on Space Mountain and see Wishes!

So while DH was using the men’s room I pointed BIL, Justin and Jule in the right direction, gave them a map and sent them on their way.

DH was gone for a long, long time! So, I took the opportunity to take a few pics! They came out a little funky!

DH finally rejoined the group and we strolled up Main Street while I took some more pics!

We headed into...

When we approached SM I noticed the posted standby wait was 50 minutes! Oh no! We had limited time before we had get a spot for Wishes!

I asked Jen if she thought they would have gotten on a line with a posted wait of 50 minutes. She was pretty sure that they would have. Oh!

Ok! Well, we had over an hour so I wasn’t going to freak. DH decided he wanted to ride Buzz. Jen and Jessica decided to wait for the rest of the family. So DH and I took the kids on a spin with Buzz.

It was an uneventful ride on buzz and really all we cared at that point was that it was warm in there!! DD and I took Ryan who did a very good job shooting with my gun, he even scored a few hundred point! Other then that I can’t remember scores, etc.

Soon we were back to waiting for the rest of the family.

We wait at least 30 minutes in the freezing cold! Ugh! Jen wanted me to go find a spot and they would meet us but I worried that if the show started without them there we would never be able to find each other. I told her I thought we should stay put for a little bit longer.

Pictures while we waited...

notice the wait is now 70 minutes?!

Jessica! Nice hat huh?! It's mine and let her borrow it to save her freezing ears ;)

Goofy and cold boys ;)

Luckily they finally got off the ride! They loved it!!!

We had about 10 minutes until Wishes started so we headed toward Main Street!

When we got to Main Street I noticed that there was quiet a breeze blowing and it just made the cold that much colder. Poor Johnny was freezing and starting to get a little cranky about. I had purchased a blanket earlier in the day( for $35!) but had it tightly wrapped around DS2. Even though the blanket was $35 I kind of regretted not buying more then one! DH took off one of his layers and Johnny was able to use it as a blanket, thank goodness! It was then that he declared “I don’t like it when it’s this cold at Disney World!” Honestly, if it wasn’t for the fact that this was Justin, Jessica and Julianna’s first trip we would not have been in MK that night! Had it just been us we would have been back at our nice warm room watching a movie and eating popcorn!

But Wishes was as lovely as ever and the fact that the Castle lights were still lite made it even better!

After Wishes we rushed out of MK and made it to the bus stop very quickly! There weren’t many, if any at all, people online in front of us and a bus soon arrived! Ahhh! It was warm in there!!!

We soon found ourselves back in our warm room! Oh my goodness! I never thought I’d need heat in a room in FL!!! But we really, really did!

I got everything set for the next day and got pj’s and such for the kiddos. Then I decided to take my warm up into the master bathroom!

Ahhhhh! Jacuzzi tub!!!! Ahhhhh!!!!!

I was really, really looking forward to take a bath in what Ryan called “a pool!”

Something went terribly wrong though!

It never occurred to me that putting bubble bath on a Jacuzzi tub was a bad idea!

I had purchased bubble bath before the trip and was so looking forward to using it! So I put a little in the tub with the water and climbed in!

Except you see the bubbles grew, and grew, and grew, and grew some more! I had turned off the Jacuzzi thingy but it still grew! I kept thinking it would stop growing but it didn’t. When the bubbles reached a good 3 1/2 feet over the top of the tub I decided it was time to call it quits! I started draining the tub and got out. I was covered in bubbles!! So I had to hit the shower! Once I was all clean I got dressed and invited the family into the bathroom to see what I had done! They all got a big kick out of it!

And you know what?!

I forgot to take a picture!!!!

Can you believe it?!

You’ll just have to use your imagination! :rolleyes1

Up next breakfast will Donald and "which way to Asia?!"

Looks like you had a fun weekend! My little guy turned 16 on Monday! Where does time go???

You got some great shots of Wishes! I can't believe how cold it was! Too funny about the bubble bath; you were trying to relax and ended up doing a lot more work. :rotfl2:

WOW! 16! With Jen's kids being that much older mine I look at their birthdays with dread! I know one day, not that long from now my kids will be celebrating that birthday! Julianna just turned 13 about 2 weeks ago! YIKES!

I was so excited about my Wishes pics!! I LOVE how them came out! My DSLR is doing me well!

My bath was one of those experiences that I'll never forget! Of course, DH will never let me forget it either!

The birthday pictures are just too sweet! Love the cake pic! :teeth:

That was a Grim Grinning Ghost tree and I love your b/w shots.... and the flower! I have to try that!

I still can't get over how cold it sounds... brrr! Just breathtaking Wishes shots and oh my gosh, all those bubbles!!!!! :lmao::lmao:

Your pictures of Wishes are awesome!!!! Do you happen to remember which setting you used on your camera? I have a DSLR (Nikon) but have yet to get any fireworks shots that great.

Too bad you had to freeze to enjoy that beautiful night.

You took some beautiful Wishes photos! Really makes me want to go when the Castle Lights are still up. Someday!!

Too funny about the bubbles. That is TOTALLY something I would do!

First I'll answer your DVC Waitlisting question, then I'm going back to read!

The short answer is "no!"

The long answer is: You don't have to give up your ressie at SSR. You can have up to 2 waitlists going at once So, you're booked at SSR and let's say you WL for Kidani and Boardwalk...

If your dates become available at either resort, the computer will automatically switch your ressie. They will not call you, they will send a written confirmation via snail mail in about ten business days. :snail:

However, the change will pop up immediately on the DVC website as soon as the waitlist comes through.

What the heck? It's worth a shot... the worst that could happen is that the waitlist doesn't pan out and then you're left with the ressie you started with at SSR!

I don't have to use my imagination at all! I did the EXACT same thing in the tub at Kidani last year!! :rotfl2:

Love your Wishes pix! :lovestruc So gad you're back and posting...

The birthday pictures are just too sweet! Love the cake pic! :teeth:

:lovestruc my birthday cutie! He had such a good time and was so happy mommy got him and ice cream cake!

That was a Grim Grinning Ghost tree and I love your b/w shots.... and the flower! I have to try that!

:lmao: Your so right!!! It really freaked me out! My Dad assured me that something had killed the branches, the branches feel off and scarred the tree! I thought there was something scary living in there!
I still can't get over how cold it sounds... brrr! Just breathtaking Wishes shots and oh my gosh, all those bubbles!!!!! :lmao::lmao:

It was sooooooooooooo freakin freezing that night! There weren't enough layers in the world! I would have spent any amount of money to buy more blankets!!!

Thanks!! I'm so happy with my Wishes pics! My bubbles! :rolleyes1

Too bad you had to freeze to enjoy that beautiful night.

I have a Nikon D5000, I'm pretty sure all I did was put in on the no flash setting. I had only just gotten a week or so before the trip so I was still learning the settings! one thing I will tell you is that I've learned to kind of brace my arms against the sides of my body and not move when I don't use the tripod, which I didn't that night.

You took some beautiful Wishes photos! Really makes me want to go when the Castle Lights are still up. Someday!!

Thanks!! I'm so happy that they came out so well! I'm super happy we got to see the castle lights again! We've been really lucky and gotten to see them twice in a row in January! I really can't wait for the whole, full christmas effect though!

Too funny about the bubbles. That is TOTALLY something I would do! Oh my! :lmao: I still can't get over it! I learned a valuable lesson though! I will never, ever put bubble bath in a jacuzzi tub again!

Thank you so much Kathy!!! I looked for something that told me exactly how waitlisting works but I couldn't find it! I'm completely at peace with SSR now though (I think ;) ) My next update will tell you why ;) And yes, I'm a tease.

I don't have to use my imagination at all! I did the EXACT same thing in the tub at Kidani last year!! :rotfl2:

Love your Wishes pix! :lovestruc So gad you're back and posting...

Kathy

:lmao::rotfl2: OMG Kathy I'm soooooo happy you told me that! I'm glad I'm not the only one!!!

Thanks about the pics! I'm so happy with them!!!

I'm so happy to be back! I really think it was part of what I was missing!!!

Melissa -

I started commenting on your updates last night and I fell asleep. Can you believe it????? :rotfl2: I love your wishes photos. They are beautiful. Where you freezing your hands off every time you took a picture!
:lmao: to the bubble bath! I bet that was hysterical! OMG! First you froze your butt off, then you got covered in bubbles. I guess it could have been worse. Imagine if you ran the jacuzzi and then walked away for awhile. The whole bathroom might be covered in bubbles!!!!!
