Magic April 6, 2012

making final payment on friday so we can book our extras starting on saturday!
going to try palo's this cruise, there was not enough time on our last cruise (3days) to try it out. any recommendations as to which night to book Palo's?
also anyone taking an excursion to maho beach?

HOw did the check in go? Did you get everything you were looking for?

We booked our things on Saturday also. We booked Palo tea for second day, Palo dinner for third, and brunch for the 6th day. Also booked couples spa for third day. Couldn't get Champagne cataman at st. john except for 7:15 in morning so we will go on our own to the beach there. Booked catamaran at st. martin but not sure if it is good or not. Very excited now!

so far so god for us, we booked palo for wednesday because we will have been through the rotation once and it was an at sea day. booked doubloon turtle cove and snorkel, i think my dd of 8 yrs will like that (me too) and bikes for castaway cay. still have not booked anything for st maarteen. i want to go to maho beach and watch the jets land but would love some feedback on booking with a tour like bernards or joyce prince or just taking a taxi there getting lunch for an hour or so.

Thanks.....DD8 is VERY social and loves meeting new people. I think the FE thing is great so if our group decides to participate I will be in (not sure I should organize it since I have never been on a cruise and didn't know what a FE was until a few minutes ago..:rotfl:).

Welcome Mickeymel! We're cruising with my DD7 who will be turning 8 a week after we cruise. She'll be excited to see another girl her age! (And DS will be 12 1/2)

The character breakfast is assigned automatically. There is a website that I can't post on here that has the dining rotations, menus & updated navigators on it. I only mention it b/c it also tells you what day the character breakfast usually is based on your potential dining rotation. If you PM me, I can send you my facebook info and I can send you the link. disboards would ban me if I send the link directly through here

We've done the fish extender trades in the past and it's always been a lot of fun. Our last cruise we had over 35 participants so this one would be so much easier for us :woohoo: The kids love coming back to the room & finding new goodies in the FE. No one's really mentioned it yet so I'm not sure if anyone has thought about organizing it?

We're doing the doubloon turtle cove trip too! We did it through RCL too and loved it. The only difference was the ship, they have 2. The one we were on was called Bones. It was really a lot of fun. The turtles come right up close, the crew is really fun & attentive & the kids had a blast. (My husband enjoyed the free beer! So much that he had a tattoo on top of his head by the end of the trip :rotfl:)

We decided to just wing it on St Maarten so far.

Mickeymel, my DD is extremely social too... a non-stop talker. Hopefully they will hit it off so she doesn't drive me insane the whole week ;)

OK, I guess I can try to organize the FE exchange...first time doing it so be gentle with me :lovestruc

If you're family would like to participate, post here with just your interest in doing so for right now so we get an idea of how many staterooms are going to do it. We'll get more details later & send it through PM's so personal info isn't floating around for everyone to see.

And now for the Guidelines :teacher:

Everyone is welcome to participate! Families, couples, individuals....the only "requirement" is that if you would like to receive from others, you have to give to everyone else on the list.

You can give anyway you would like....1 gift per stateroom, several small gifts over several days, gifts for each person in the stateroom, gifts just for the kids (although sometimes there are some big "kids" participating too ;) ) etc.

Gifts can be anything you like...cruise related, hometown related, Disney related, port related, pirate related, kid related, adult related (well, Disney-fied adult related :rolleyes1 ) helpful items, fun items, homemade, store bought, etc There are a few threads floating around with ideas. Some people are really creative! Personally, Oriental Trading is my best friend for this in the past

Did I forget anything? Any questions?

I thought we would be late for this group. I am surprised that this meet is not busy.

I have this cruise on hold. I am waiting on my husband to make sure he can get the time off.

Christi
Erik
Matt -13
Marina- 11

We have been looking at other lines, but Disney holds a special place in our hearts.

Marina is very excited. she will be turning 11 on Sunday and will be in the Edge for the first time.

This is our 4th DCl cruise as a family. The last one was in August when we went to Alaska. My 5th: i was on the EBTA is May.

EtA: Did anyone compile a list of cruisers. Is there a meet planned, etc...

I started the thread, but agree I thought there would be more people on here! Only a few months away! :rotfl::banana: Trying to figure out what excursions to do with a 3 and 5 year old...anyone have any experiences they want to share?

Welcome Christi & WB cruzluvin! We've been a quiet thread so far, but picking up. :goodvibes I think everyone is kind of surprised that it's not so busy being Easter break but I guess more people are interested in the Fantasy instead....that's ok, more room on the ship for us ;)

No meet planned yet, but we were just discussing FE's. We have 4 staterooms so far participating.

I don't think we came up with a master list yet since it would have been in the middle of the thread somewhere. Maybe now that Cruzluvin is back, we can get one going on the first page for reference? We can all do reintroductions if it's easier instead of going back through the past few pages.

Hey Stimpy! I started the thread, but am very much a novice on these boards. What is normally done to set up a meet up?

I will do my intro- It will be me, my DH, and two sons, 3 and 5. Our first trip as a family to Disney. My DH and I went to WDW when we were dating and it was awesome. Now, we are doing a cruise as we thought this would be the best way to bring young kids. We are also doing two days post cruise in MK:yay: we are beyond excited.:banana: Hope to hear more from others soon!

Sorry, didn't mean to make it sound like you had to do all the planning! I just meant maybe you could edit & put all out basic info in the first post so we could reference it? For example a list of everyone & their families. Something like:

cruzluvin: self, DH, DS-3, DS-5
stimpy: self, DH, DS-12, DD-7(almost 8)

or any other info we decide to put so it's easier for everyone to find everything in one place? Know what I mean? We can eventually add any meet info on the first page if w decide to do one, FE participants (but not stateroom numbers or personal info ;) that will be sent through PMs)

I can do my re-introduction.....this is our 1st "gold" DCL cruise. Our last one was the Baltic....2 weeks on the Magic & it was amazing! :lovestruc We're travelling with myself, my DH, DS is 12 and DD is 7, she'll be 2 weeks shy of 8 when we cruise. Can't wait for this cruise!

hello all, here is my reintroduction: this will be our 2nd cruise (last one was 4-11 on the dream) traveling will be myself, DW, and DD age 8.
74 days to go!
