Hello everyone... My name is Christina and I am so excited to be cruising on The Magic, with my DD(turning 7 on the day we embark) my sister and her husband. You have already met her...her screen name is AliKay, she told me we are participating in the FE.
I look forward to meeting ya'll and making new friends!
My DD is very friendly and it looks like their are some kids her age in this group.
I can not wait to tell her about the cruise...It's a birthday surprise!

My family and my girlfriend & her family CANNOT wait either! Leaving on the 5th to fly down so it's only "16 DAYS"!!!! Guess I better get the luggage out! lol We can't wait to meet all of you either!

Hey everybody! I am now to this blog - new to disboards!!! I can't wait to scroll through the postings as I prepare for our cruise. Me, my husband, son (10), and daughter (8) - planning to surprise the kids with this one! excursions and dining are booked, pirate costumes purchased, and i think I have memorized the layout of the ship! This is our first disney cruise (6th or 7th cruise overall- we have done RCCL and Carnival).

We are surprising our kids too. I haven't yet decided how - maybe the automatic call from DCL. Maybe I will make a puzzle and have them put it togoether. How are you telling them? Also, where in Carolina are you from? We are from Charleston, SC.

WOW... you guys are better than I am. I would never be able to keep it a secret from my kids. Maybe its because i'm a single mom and I wouldn't be able to talk to anyone about it or because mine are now teens and you can't keep anything from them but I have a feeling it's most likely that I can NOT keep a secret.

I think there was a way to have Mickey or someone call. You could do that.

Woo Hoo!!!! Getting so close!!! I swear I am more excited then my kids will ever be! Lol!!
I am from north myrtle beach, so not to far from charleston! It usually takes us 2 1/2 hours to get to downtown from here. Isn't the bridge run coming up? And haven't you been loving the weather this week! Spring fever has turned to spring BREAK fever for me!
I had a great idea re: Easter that I thought I'd share. I called the cruise line and had them decorate the stateroom in the Bon Voyage celebration - they personalize the message card, so I had them put from the ESter Bunny. Then I found some great little totes at the Disney store here for nothing! Soft, collapse able (translation: hide-able!). Picked up a bunch of Disney goodies- towels, toys, pool stuff, etc, to put in them!

Hey jennifera!
I've been trying to decide- on one hand it would be great to tell them on the long drive. I think they'd love reading through the books and cruise guides- I could even play the DVD! However, since we are driving and sleeping in a hotel the night before, I know there would be zero actual sleeping! I have toyed with a few ideas: my favorite so far is to have a "wheel of fortune" or jeopardy style quiz game- correct answers to Disney questions reveals another letter, etc. I have been home the last few days with a sick kid, so the extra time on my hands is leading to some elaborate ideas- lol!(and the lack of sleep is leading to some ridiculous ideas too! Eg- what size coffee pot can I fit in my suitcase?)
it's so much fun planning! What are your thoughts?

As a first time cruiser I'm totally sure that it is odd but I would have called my TA or Disney if you didn't have a TA just to make sure when I noticed everyone else was getting the papers. We got ours about 3 weeks ago, almost 5 weeks before sail date, but if the papers are mailed in order that you booked the cruise then that might be the delay. We booked over a year ago. I think I would still call someone... It was my understanding from my TA that everyone got their papers about 30 days before sailing.

I love the idea of a game of jeopardy. Or you could play I-spy on the drive - where you would only see Disney things.

Good Morning....We received our documents 2 weeks ago. I would call the cruise line and see what the delay is. We booked through a TA but the documents still came directly through Disney.

We just made our reservation in Feb through DCL and we got our cruise documents a few weeks ago. I would call.
