Magic 11/20/04 Thanksgiving Cruisers?

No Docs! Still sad.

Please add my family to the list CRSNDSNY! Did you get my email yesterday about this? My email at work is not always up.

Thanks

babysharknc!! you are right across from my MIL and kids!! Yall keep it down in there:p

Hey Mel--thanks for all the great work you have done on the website--we really appreciate it!

I am now taking votes on the GC stop--

Will we or won't we:confused:

I'm also in with a "Yes" for GC...

I really don't care. Just want to get in that warm sun, feel the ocean breeze, hear the steel-drum calypso music, eat some good food.

For those of you who have cruised before, what's your favorite thing to do on the ship?

I enjoy...
1. Getting up before most everyone else does (not a late sleeper), running on deck 4 and heading up to deck 10 for a quick rinse in the shower and a dip in the pool. Then I head forward and watch the world go by before heading back to the cabin so we can go to Luminiers for breakfast.
2. Hanging with my kids playing shuffleboard.
3. Swimming on CC
4. Naps on deck 4.
5. Food, food, food... and a beer.
6. Deck 10 "ALL" the way forward, in front of the glass.
7. The galley tour & bridge tour
8. The "secret" deck, on deck 7 aft.

I'll vote "yes" for GC also.

To those of you who have cruised before, please add to Doogierunner's list of things you most enjoy to do while on the Magic. Thanks!

I have only cruised once, and it was a 3 day. It was great, but by the time you get your bearings, the cruise is over.

Be sure and:

Get the Giant shrmp on departure day
Go to the shows
Drink the "special of the day"
Take time to stroll the decks at night
check out your photos in Shutters

I have a question for the veteran Magic cruisers--is there someone that balances drinks on his head on the Magic like there is on the Wonder? He is a hoot!

:( Still no Docs!

I vote for GC too!

Our extended family of 12 went on the Wonder 2002 4 day...Had a great time. Just not long enough. It was my Granny's first cruise she was 91 and my DD 1st cruise she was 3. Proof that all ages just love this cruise line.

Just a side note: DH and I cruised with Disney in 1991 on the BIG RED BOAT not nearly as magical as the Wonder. We had a good time.

I wish my darn Docs would come, it just doesn't seem as real to me until the Docs arrive!

Silver7 don't be surprise if your MIL and Kids hear our kids, they have a good set of lungs! Bring ear plugs.....LOL.... Just kidding!:p

I have a hard enough time walking in the sand WITHOUT drinks on my head! We saw someone do this at CC last year:

We still haven't received the docs...:( but I am not worried...TA said they should be here in a week...well that would be today or Monday and then the TA has to send them to us.

I am starting to go through the travel bags to see what needs to be refilled or added and will head to Wally World if I need anything. I think all of the big stuff is taken care of already...I purchased 2 more memory cards for my camera...ya'll think that 700 photos will do? :teeth:

As for what we like to do when we are on board? Well, we are first time cruisers so I can't answer. I can tell ya'll that DH plans to be the guy from the DCL commercial...ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!

DS...well, I think he just wants to have fun! And order from room service. I plan to set down some ground rules, but like many of you, I feel that he can roam at will provided he give us some inkling of where he will be. On past vacations though he has hung with the parental units. This trip though might be different with his age and "too cool to hang with the folks" junior high attitude...plus there will be so much for him to do without us.

Me? Well, I am the kind of person who wants to do it all...experience as much as I can and have fun. I tend to be the early riser in our family, but not one who gets up before the crack of dawn...although a beautiful sunrise might pull me out of bed.

We'll just have to see what presents itself to us and go from there...DH and DS aren't the planners that I am, but I promised them I would try to lighten up this trip. Hence, the one excursion and minimal plans.

Well, I'm off to work. I hope everyone has a magical Disney weekend! May there be many princesses and Buzz Lightyears knocking on your doors! DS is marching tomorrow nights parade as a convict...yes, he's growing up.

Take care!

Doogie and Silver.........I can't begin to tell you how disappointed I am in the both of you........Doogie, all the way to number 5 of your favorite things to do is drink a beer? Silver, at leat you are up to number three!!! LOL

Just got off the phone with Disney Excursion Reservations. She said the 11/06 cruise is the first cruise scheduled to go to Grand Cayman. Based on their computer today.

So our vote is YES to GC. Either way we will win. on this issue. I'm not sure I will feel that way after Tuesday.

We signed up for Shipwrick & reef snorkling at GC.

If anybody wants our opinion, the first cruise DH and DS went to Tulum. it was a long trip for such a short time there. Too much to learn in too short of time. You have to go there at least once. Such an awesome site and it is older than 100 years(unlike most cities in the states which gets torn down to build a strip center!) The guides are very informative, i could spend a whole day there. Right outside of the park was very bad....Alot of trash and poverty. DW and DD's did the Dolphins.
They had a better time. They have the vidieo to prove it.

We will miss Key West, but CC is better for those who want to chill...glad it is the first day.

ON the boat, DW can sit in a chase lounge all day. I on the other hand can't sit still. I have to be doing something. Explore!, Play Hide and Seek with kids( this way at least they check in with us every hour, Shhhhh, i call it a game. Don't let them know!)Swim(i mean soak) See shows, etc. I do get in the whole Disney experience. I am an early riser, so i have more time to do more!

That's the same info I got a couple weeks ago heeeee haaaaaaaa:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Only 2 more Saturdays of work before we sail!!!!!!!!!!:jumping1:

...and only 3 more weeks of work before a full week of relaxation!! :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Happy Halloween to all!!:jester:

OK, here is a recap of the DIS Meets we have set up.

Saturday- Sailaway Party on deck 10 in the corner by the portable bar, overlooking the party down on deck 9. (Dock side of the ship) Look for the lime green DIS shirts.

Sunday- (after CC) NFL football games in Diversions

Monday(sea day) Palo Brunch- Aiming for 11:00 AM- We have 13 signed up now. Lampskies? Are you joining us?

Nightly- 10:00-10:30 or so for a nightcap, and to talk about how great a day we had. Lampskies has suggested Diversions would be great for this.

There is also High Tea. But I can never remember which day!

I know this sounds like alot of meets. But I would rather have more options than less. We can choose to attend as many as we want.

Willie

High Tea will be scheduled for our second day at sea, Thursday. It will be around three o'clock. I will let you all that have signed up for it our exact time when I get the ressie on board the first day. Everyone can still sign up if they want to--there is always room for one more--princess:

I would like to add one more positive for where the meet is the first day: on our last cruise during the sailaway party we were on the dance floor, and did not get to see the crewmembers on the dock wave goodbye with the mickey hands when we casted off--the dockside deck 10 is a perfect place for it! Also, we can wave at the two palms cameras as we go by:wave2:

Only 18 more days!!:jumping1:

I'm so excited...:jumping1:

I have checked the family's wardrobe to make sure DS has enough tan socks to wear, DH is happy with the choices he has, and am just waiting on my dress to be altered...and that is done! I've restocked the incidentals bags...you know the toothpaste and such...and that is done too. :faint:

I need to photocopy our passports, get travelers checks, stop the mail and newspaper still, inform DS's school so he can get the work he'll miss...ah, the never ending errands. ...:moped:

I think I am ready and the boys will be ready when they need to be. Luckily, I have a short day on the 19th and can pack the bags while they are at school then run off to get my pedicure. princess: DH says why bother since all that sand will wear off the polish. Men?:scratchin They just don't understand the wonderful feeling of a full pedicure including the leg massage. :cloud9:

We still haven't received the docs, but I'm not sweating it...I really don't expect them until the end of this week or early next week...two weeks out.

Well, I just wanted to check in with ya'll! Take care!

DDs went shopping for their "outfits" for dinner this weekend......me, I'm good with a swim suit and a tank top. WMiller, put me in for the Palo brunch!! Also I'll be talking to our neighbors that are sailing with us and I'll talk to them I'll bet they are in also. DW (Kim) with all of the "moving" and stuff just "doesn't want anything to do with a schedule on vacation". But by day 4 she'll be loosened up. We'll start with some "foofy drinks" at the sailaway!!!!
