Hello all! We are 46 days until the runDisney marathon and 47 days until we all set sail on the re - imagined Disney Magic. Our family will be doing a land and sea vacation as may of you as well. My mom will be doing the full marathon as the rest of us cheer her one. During this trip it will be My husband, 3 yr old son, my brother (28), my mom and myself. We will be staying at the beach club. If any of you would like to do a meet up. On the Magic we have 2 staterooms and would love to participate in the FE if this is still an option. Please let me know what the next steps are so I can begin planning! Thx

We too are doing a land and sea pkg, as we will be at marathon weekend. staying at beach club! my husband and i are running the half, our daughter is running the full! then 4 nights on the Magic! can't wait!

Ok I have sent out an updated FE list... to ALL of my contacts evidently!! I'm so sorry, Gmail froze up and I didn't realize it hadn't filtered my "to" list! Thankfully I only have 29 saved contacts and 13 of them are on this cruise. Most of the rest is family. I am MORTIFIED

Good Morning Everyone!! We are getting close to the FE deadline which is Sunday! I still have a couple additions that I will make today and get an updated list sent out.

We are also trying to get a count of people interested in a meet and greet on the 13th before the lifeboat drill. If you are interested please PM me or post here or on FB. Don't post in both places so we don't double count lol!

I contacted DCL about doing a private event today. I found out from someone who recently cruised that they had a private gathering that had a full open bar for 1 hour. It was $13.75 per person with a minimum 25 people. if you think about the cost of drinks on the cruise (avg $6-7 a piece), 2 drinks would be just about that. If we could do this, would anyone be interested? (posted on facebook group too)

omg, I'm such a dork. I booked this in October for my family and completely forgot about finding this thread. This is our 2nd DC, was on the Wonder last Jan so I should have known better.

Anyway, we are a family of 4 (2 young daughters) and CDN, I imagine some of you are if you took advantage of the CDN promo. We are flying out of Buffalo the day before, checking into a hotel < DC! > and going to WDW for a couple of days afterward.

I'm a bit of a techy so if you have any last minute questions about travel routers, waterproof cameras, GPSs, computers, smartphones, etc, reply here or pm me.

Just a note, if you are CDN and you have an unlocked smartphone, you can go to a store (7-11 for us) and buy a RoamMobility SIM card for $20, then buy one of their cheap cell packages online. It is better to have an AWS capable phone because RM piggybacks onto TMobile. If you don't, it will work fine in Orlando because TMobile has refarmed that city into 3G. However, depending on where you are flying from, eg; Buffalo for us, a nonAWS phone will only be able to use 2G which makes data mostly unusable.
My wife has a unlocked iPhone5S which is 3G/LTE/AWS.

Using RoamMobility is much cheaper than roaming on your CDN network (Rogers charges an arm and leg).

RM packages include free calls to Canada. The RM SIM card lasts one year before you need to buy another package. Check their website for more details (I have no affiliation).

Here is what I postd on the FB page.

Ok everyone, after hearing from DCL about the group gathering, it would be on our sea day and the cost per person would be $13.25. This includes kids too. Instead of as dessert tray, I thought about getting getting a cake with our group name on it. What does everyone think? Thought it would be a cool way to spend some of our last day on the cruise. We would need to firm up these planes no later than Friday to make sure we give DCL plenty of notice. Again we have to have a minimum of 25 people.

In case anyone is wondering, from our experience last year, DC does a good job of pairing a family with similar aged kids usually near your room and will be sitting with you on your dining rotation (that's how we met). Our paired family lives in Nebraska and we near Toronto. Everyone got along and especially our respective daughters who were glued to each other the whole cruise. At the end, we were pretty much one big family.

On my first Disney cruise they paired my son and I with two other single moms and their kids,so clearly they do put thought into it which is nice. We are a family of 5so aim hoping for a private table but we will see...
