I am sailing on my first Disney cruise on January 13, 2014. Looking for other cruisers. I didn't see a meet page so I figured I would start one. Hoping to find out more about the fish extender thing as well.

I am hoping to participate in an FE exchange and/or a DIS Meet!

So I wanted to set up a place for all of us to start getting excited as our cruise dates gets closer and to set up our FE lists. So if you are joining our group please feel free to post and I'll keep a list of us going here at the top.

I will get the list started, some of the more seasoned cruisers can help me along the way on the rules and what to do for the FE/Meet groups.

Mickey Cruiser 4 -- DW, DH, DS (9), DD (3)

I have added your thread to the cruise meet list pixiedust:

Have a great cruise!

My family will be joining you!!

We are setting sail on my 30th birthday so this is part of my celebration. We are also participating in the WDW marathon weekend prior to boarding, my parents are running the half, my sister and I are running the full, and not to be left out, my son (5) is doing the Mickey Mile! We will be returning to WDW after the cruise for MLK weekend before heading back to reality!

I am definitely interested in participating in an FE! My son and I have been on one other DCL cruise, this is my parents and sister's first DCL though. Hopefully we can find some more people to join!

We are sailing on our first cruise ever, all four of us, daughter age 9, son age 6!

:yay:

Looking for other cruisers and would love to be apart of the fish extender family! We want our names to be added to the list but I don't know how exactly to go about it...?!

:confused3

Welcome!! My son will be almost 6 when we sail! You've picked a great first cruise!!! Once we have a few more people going we can start an fish extgender list. Are you making your own? I ordered one for our first Disney cruise but it only has me and my son on it so I will probably have to get another one for my parents and sister.

This is all new to me as well. I have never been on a Disney cruise before and I am very excited. Anyone know about the fish extender thing. I keep reading things about it.

Hi everyone! We just booked! There will be 8 of us!
This will be cruise #11 for us.
We will be participating in marathon weekend, and decided to celebrate so we booked this cruise!
There are 5 of us running the half, and my hubby is doing the Goofy!
My hubby is running with his dad(65yo) in the half- it's going to be an awesome day- because his dad just had both hips replaced. So hopefully we will all be in one piece and we can have an awesome cruise!

Hi all, this will be our 10th cruise but first on Disney. We will have just finished running the races at walt disney world and are really looking forward to relaxing on the Magic. My husband and I are running the half marathon and our daughter is running the full! Everyone speaks so highly of DCL! We are 3 adults traveling without kids on this trip! :dance3:

Fish Extenders are so much fun! Basically you buy/make a Fish Extender ( I ordered mine from someone on ebay) and hang it from the fish that is outside your cabin door. Prior to sailing, everyone that is interested signs up here and give info like cabin #, ages of children etc and then everyone brings presents for each person signed up. They can be anything, I got quite a variety of items on our Wonder cruise and they don't have to be expensive. Some people like to theme them to where they are from which is neat. My son was 3 when we were on our first DCL cruise and he LOVED coming back to the room and checking the FE for presents. Some people space them out so we pretty much had something every time we came back ot our room! I would be happy to organize the FE list if people are interested! Also for an idea of what kinds of gifts etc you can check out my TR for Mommy and Jack's 2nd fall adventure, the link is in my signature. I'm already thinking of ideas for this cruise

Yay for more race weekenders! I'm just hoping they don't have to roll me onto the ship in a wheelchair :rotfl2:

Great minds think alike! We thought this would be the best way to relax after a long race and even longer months of training! My parents are running the half and my sister and I are doing the full. You will LOVE DCL! I've sailed on several other lines and DCL is by far my favorite! This is my parents first DCL cruise as well!

Will there be a meet and greet or some kind of get together on this cruise for all those signed up on this board? Would love to meet those who will be sailing with us!

We could definitely organize something! If its a big group then sometimes Disney will let us borrow a space but if its a smaller group we could organize something unofficial.

Hi All!

My DH and I just booked this cruise - we are doing the Dopey Challenge and like all of you thought a cruise was the perfect way to relax after all the training and exhausting weekend!

We don't have kids but we would love to participate in FE whenever it gets started! And we should def do a meet :cool1:

Anyone who wants to participate in the FE, the following information is needed:
*Cabin # if you know it (GTY ones probably don't have theirs yet)
*Number of participants
*Ages, genders and names are helpful
*Your DIS name
* Your email address
*any special notes, allergies, likes/dislikes etc

I will put the info into a spreadsheet and email it out to participants. PM me if you have questions!

Hi everyone!
I'd love to join in on the Fish Extender group! I will also be running the marathon in January - sounds like there will be quite a few runners on the cruise! :)
This will be our first Disney cruise - and first cruise for our older girls. My kiddos love Disney (as do I! ha!) but we wanted to try something different this year for our older 2, and we're considering this a chance to check out the ship for a "complete" family vacation with all of our kids when the triplets get a little older. So, I'd love to hear any tips and tricks for cruising with little ones from some seasoned DCL cruisers!
Looking forward to chatting before and meeting up on board! :)

This group is now getting active! There will be 3 of us, my daughter is running the full, my hubby and I are running the half. How would we organize a meet and greet? It would be fun to have one during the cruise, even though it is a short one.
Also, any suggestions for what to do in Nassau? And is anyone contemplating doing the CC 5k?

Well we could take a list of people who are interested in a meet and greet and then if there is a sizeable amount we could ask Disney about using one of their spaces for an "official" meet. Otherwise we can just plan on meeting in a lounge or something. My favorite part of these meets is that if we do them on Embarkation day then you see people you know all over the ship after that!

As for Nassau it depends on what you are interested in. I have been to the zoo and my dad and sister have parasailed there but mostly we just wander around. I always get a picture of me and my son taken in front of the Pirate Museum, it's our little family tradition, but we've never actually been IN the museum, maybe we will try that this time...

I would like to do the CC 5K, especially as it looks as though I am dropping out of the marathon due to an injury this past weekend. The rest of my family is still running though! We are staying at Port Orleans Riverside prior to the cruise and Art of Animation after
