Titus has asked Ashli to send him some magazines but he didn't specify which ones he would like. Since I realize that they will be passed around and well read I thought I would get one or two that I'm sure Titus would like (popular science is a favorite of his) and some others that I thought would be of general interest to others. What kind of magazines are you guys picking?

I had a girl so I sent her In Style magazine. I thought it would work well for almost any age. Sometimes my husband will even look through it.

I sent Titus a baseball magazine in one of the packages. No lue if he likes sports, but I thought one of his buddies might :) I didn't know if he likes cars or sports. I had thought of Pop Sci. Glad to know you will send it.

Hopefully we can get lots more ideas.

Popular Mechanics sounds like a good one to me too. I hadn't thought of that one. I'll pick one of those up too. I'll see what else is on the newstand too, once I'm actually looking at a lot of magazines I might notice some other good choices too.

My dh loves This Old House.... home repairs and such (and not too many offensive type ads to the Muslim population)

TwinMom7 said that Bobby liked sports and Nascar magazines. Reader's Digest and People magazine are also good bets. I thought about crossword puzzle and word searches as well.

No need to go out and spend money on magazines to send to them! Stop by your local Doctors or Dentist office and ask if you can grab a few that are soon out of date. They actually rotate magazines weekly and most would be happy to give you a few.

My dh asked for Pro-Football weekly, the USA today and it is a must that I send him his Dallas Cowboy Weekly. Also, Easy Crossword puzzles!

When I asked my son what types of things to send, he told me to print out stats from websites of baseball players and nascar standings.
I also printed out some Garfield comics:D

Great idea Jody!!!!!

I'm going to check into that this week!

Hmm, Jody, I may need to start visit your doctor. My doctors change their magazines about every other year ;)

LOL Katherine, I used to go to a Dr. like that. The dr. I have now buys current magazines but he keeps the old ones too. I think he has a hundred magazines or more laying around the office, lol.

Here's a suggestion .... comic books.

Most of these young men are probably between 18 and 24 and no doubt enjoy reading comic books. If they've been deployed a while, they may be behind on what Batman or Spider-Man have been up to.

Comic shops can be found listed in most yellow pages. If you live near a military base, go by a comics store near the base and ask the owner what's popular among the troops or what's popular generally. Books-A-Million has a pretty good selection of comic books and trade paperbacks (collected editions of multiple issue runs). If someone needs some guidance on what's popular and what's not, I'd be glad to help.
