Magazine for newbies...

I think there's a free one called shutterfly. There's a few like that. I'm sure somebody will know of others.

Actually it is called Rangfinder. It is free, but it is not for new people.
I subscribe to Popular Photography and I like it a lot.

What are you looking for though? That might help some with suggestions.

I received a new digital camera for Christmas and I am just starting to learn about the F-Stops and Af, etc. I was just hoping for some guidance from somewhere . =)

I have the above book mentioned. It is very helpful. I am still reading/studying it. I just recently got a Rebel and all the technical stuff is new to me. I have taken pictures for years with the point-and-shoots with good results. I just wanted more. That book by Bryan Peterson is a good place to start. It is nicely illustrated, and he kindly uses language that makes sense to me.

Does anyone know of a good beginner magazine?

not a magazine per say, but magazine format...national geographic publishes a very basic digital photo magazine format book...got it for daughter at barnes and noble, under $10...and i like the understanding exposure book also.
canon online has a great learning center with basic information for any dslr camera user http://www.photoworkshop.com/canon/index.html and it saves some trees ;) ...actually they have lots of good teaching info on their site

Don't forget your local library... you'll probably find plenty of books there. The basic rules of aperture and shutter speed haven't changed in decades... but there are probably some current books in your local system, too.

A book will probably give a more comprehensive introduction than a magazine will, which has to feature new content every month.
