My co-worker got me involved in this a month ago. It's hilarious when our other co-workers listen to our Mafia Wars discussions! I'm a level 106 Skilled Consigliere and have 198 friends. Trying to get to 501! Would love to have DIS'ers in my mafia!

Lately, I've been spending more time on Mafia Wars than the DIS I'm hooked. Sent some friend requests out. I'm tired of getting my butt kicked all over town.

Any Disers play Mafia Wars on Facebook? I am desperately in need of some folks to join my mafia - I am tired of losing fights to virtual bullies!

Use your profile points to get your energy up to a spot where it's reasonable for you to be able to get back to the game without losing any points (other than overnight at this point). You want to complete jobs 100% - you get an additional profile point each time you do so. Then start adding the profile points to your defense and attack (keep your defense points 5 or so higher than attack). Use your stamina to fight - the server will match you with players at your level. Attack those with mafias smaller than your own for the best chance of winning.

Good tips. I've been playing all morning working on getting money so i can buy property to ramp up my income. Already qualified for a Don war, but haven't fought it yet.

My husband does just the opposite -- he keeps his attack points at TWICE his defense points! I haven't quite gotten the nerve to do that, so my def points are about 5-10 lower than the attack points.

Popping back in here to say hi to my MW/DISer buddies. (Blasted DIS no longer sends me email notifications when a thread is posted to....)

I'm still really new to all this, so take what I do with a grain of salt.
1) I'm trying to fly under the radar right now for the most part while I grow my properties and passive income. Not touching the hitlist, for example. Just small-potato fights and jobs. Most of my income goes toward Mafia Mikes and undeveloped properties, as they can't be robbed. And defense, of course.
2) Putting lots of my points toward energy.
3) Right now, I've got equal points on defense and attacks.
4) It's a lower priority right now, but I want to build up stamina for hitlists.

Overall, I'm trying to grow slowly and smartly. Since I've added you folks, I'm pleased to see I'm getting hit at a reasonable rate rather than all the time. It also helps to develop slowly since MW has glitches in the system these days, but boy is THAT frustrating!

Anyway, I'm really interested in learning others' strategies, just generally. I know we'll all play the game as to what interests us, but I'm always on the lookout for good ideas. You should all know, though, my long-term plan is to whack some bosses. Gets it out of my system, which is good for the real world, and much more fun than whack-a-mole.

I'm just kind of blundering along with it. I'm at level 24 now and trying to gain 2-3 levels per day by doing jobs and fighting. I've gained quite a bit of money off of higher level friends' hits as well as my own hits!

My stats are:

Attack 35
Defense 25
Health 140
Energy 60
Stamina 12

Right now I'm working towards getting an office building on my downtown lot. I haven't really been mastering any job levels, but I have been going for skilled. I figure one of these days I'll just sit down and go back through to master them.

I dont buy any high $ properties, people just rob you when you have them.

Building energy is key, it is the most time consuming to replenish. I also deposit any money I get, have about $375 million in bank.
