Maelstrom SB lines

I was at Epcot on Sunday and the posted wait time for Marlstrom was 50 minutes. The line didn't look like 50 minutes and so I got in line. It was 25 minutes. By the time we got off the ride, they'd changed the wait time to. 25 minutes. I have no idea what was going on.

I think a lot of it has to do with how many FP+ people are returning.

In August, May, Feburary or December I have never waited a second.
Its always been a walk on with empty boats.

But if you got TT and Soarin, what else would you use your FP for? The only other one I might consider is Living with the Land. All the rest you can get in pretty quickly. Maelstrom can get pretty crowded (30-45 min at busy times, and I don't want to wait that long for a 5 min ride). We usually travel during Spring break or NYE week.

We did FP's for TT, Soarin and Malestrom.
The line for Malestrom was about 45 minutes when we went for our FP time. It was worth it for us, because by the time we got around to the world showcase our little guy was kind of over waiting in lines.

I've always had a walk on with Maelstrom, which is probably why I like it. Of course, I've ridden it in the evenings during early February, when basically everything at EPCOT has been that way. So that may play a role.

Oh and by the way, we did Living on the land after our Soarin FP since they were in the same building and then we had lunch. The line for Living on the land was about 20 minutes and went super fast.

I was there yesterday. I think it has less to do with fastpass+, and more to do with people needing something to do while their loved one holds their place in line to meet Anna and Elsa.

This is what we did during NYE week (we booked before tiering). The Maelstrom FP came in handy when it was super crowded. Otherwise you probably don't need one.

Ignoring tiering, if I was to rank the FP+ options in Epcot for my family we would probably put Maelstrom 5th, after Soarin', TT, Character Spot and Illuminations. I am willing to bet most people don't prioritize it higher than either Soarin' and TT.

I'm curious to see the % of FP+ users who actually book Maelstrom instead of Soarin' and TT.

Must have been before tiering. That is no longer an option.
