Hello,

Given all the recent news about the Maelstrom almost sure demise...
I've never shot dark rides (next month will be my first try!) so I don't have any but I did some googling and didn't find much.

Does anyone have any Maelstrom pics to share?

Not the ride but here's a pic from the queue.
DH is going to miss his Norse twin

Sadly I have almost none even though it's always been a favorite attraction. I'd start out intending to shoot and then find I was just sitting back and enjoying. But here is one:

snowweisz,

Maelstrom is an extremely challenging ride to capture. You'll need a very fast lens and you'll also need to bump up your ISO (I shot at 6400). For me, I also had the extra challenge of needing to manual focus for most of the dark scenes. I rode it twice about a week and a half ago with the same idea that I should try to capture some pics in case it was my last hurrah and below is the best I came up with. I am kicking myself now since both times we ended up with seating in the back of the boat and I should have asked at least once to wait extra time in order to get a seat up front.

Good Luck with your quest!

Sadly, I hate to see this attraction close. Always one of my favorites. Question, how do you get such clear shots in the low light areas of the ride?
