My DD was always a little afraid of this one - she had a phobia about the polar bear - all the big rides including the coasters - no problem. Only now at 11, she's conquered her fear.
When I was younger and went to WDW for the first time and rode this ride, I made my dad buy me a poncho b/c I heard there was a drop down a waterfall. Its not intense...but it is dark.
I have always really loved this ride. It's cool (literally) and gives you a happy Norwegian feeling - in a scary polar bear threatening, troll menacing kind of way. But last April it was like walking through a landfill to get to the boats. There was trash everywhere. I was just hoping that was a one time thing - man it was gross. I'm sure we'll give it another chance next time. I hate it when people litter. Respect Walt's house!!
