Madonna

I love her music (old and new) and I think she has an amazing voice. She's a great dancer, too. As an actress, she is AWFUL! I agree with everyone who said she is a brilliant business woman and a marketing genius as well.

I am a BIG fan! I really enjoy ALL her music, and I like that it changes every CD. I was lucky enough to go to her Drowned World Tour in Atlanta and it was worth every single penny! And I LOVED her performance in Evita...I know I am in the minority :-)

Madonna annoyed me when she first appeared because I didn't care for her bag lady look or her kind of squeeky voice. I've learned to appreciate her more and more as the years have gone by and while I'm not a big fan, I do like some of her music and admire her staying power.

I like much of her music, however her as a person... i'm still pondering my opinion. She was actually born in the same city as me (which is always cool), and know some people who knew her as a child. Her daring reinventions of her self image, if that's politically correct to say, seem so much more like a gimic and attention getter that i have no idea who she really is. She always seems to be playing the role of Madonna and not being Madonna.

I liked a few of her first songs, but it got old. I did like the song from the Bond flick, but I think that was the first Madonna I've liked in almost 20 years.

Regarding Madonna-the celebrity, meh, no thanks. If someone's stirring things up if it's they truly believe it's one thing, but if they're creating controversy merely for the sake of it (or their career) then I usually tune them out.

YEP - she is ALWAYS doing the *gimmick* thing; weather its sex, violence, controversy...whatever...she learned that bad publicity sells and paved the road for Marketing artist's of today such as Eminem...

Like the gimmick or not - she's been around for 21 years...so guess what? It worked!

As with most artists; her best songs were the one's that never got radio play (for example Promise to Try, One More Chance, Sky Fits Heaven and Impressive Instant...)

and her concerts??? WOW - talk about getting your money's worth...

The show (Will and Grace) wasn't as funny as I thought it was going to be, but it was entertaining. Honestly, I think that Eric McCormack stole the show with his drugged out on pain killers persona. I loved when he was watching American Idol and he was singing the little "whoa-ah whoa" theme song. Quite funny.

I've never understood the fuss or hype about Madonna. I don't particularly care for her and I can't name a single song she's made, except Like a Virgin, which shows how old I am.

I just mentioned this EXACT thing on another board...I was d-y-i-n-g...!!

...and here I thought I was the only one that sings the "a - whoa-a-whoa - oh" thing?!? :p

I'm not a Madonna fan, I like some of her songs. I love "Crazy for You" and really loved that movie with Matthew Modine (can't remember the name!). One thing that annoys me is how she constantly bats her eyes during interviews, the sign of someone trying to get away with something. I do respect the fact that she seems like an excellent mother who is working hard to raise her kids and not hire a bunch of nannies to do it. She doesn't let them watch TV or eat junk food, heck that is WAY better than I'm doing!

that movie with Matthew Modine (can't remember the name!).

*Vision Quest* - Crazy for You is from that movie. If you liked that song - you might want to look at her "I'll Remember" album - it's all love songs...some really nice stuff on that CD..:D

I have noticed that her crows feet have disappeared recently too. I noticed in the fashion mags last year that she was starting to age. (in a good way;) but she looks way too fresh now. to different. botox and laser peel baby :p

I'm not a fan of her current music. I think I truly stopped listening to her music at the same time she was wearing those HUGE black cone shaped bras (maybe 1990?)

I thought she was hysterical in Will and Grace last night. The writers gave her some funny stuff... I hadn't laughed so hard watching Will and Grace in a LONG time.

I'm not a huge fan of her other movies...

As for her staying on top/fresh/current... she must have one heck of a publicist... because that publicist is amazing!
