Hey everyone just a short update. As of this minute Tammy has Madison at the Childrens hospital. She fell while playing this evening and broke her wrist..The urgen care sent them to the hospital because it had to be set and too do that they needed to sedate her. She was crying so hare because it hurt and she never crys from hurting because she has a high tolerance for pain {a symptom of her Job's} so it was broke pretty bad. Poor baby. Sometimes I just wish I could take all this from her and give it to myself.

This is way jumping the gun...but if you think she should re-schedule - it is possible to do - if you think she won't enjoy her trip as much in a cast?!?!?

I think she will be fine. She goes to see her ortho dr. on Thursday and he should put a waterproof cast on for her. And if we take it easy and have pain med. if she needs we should alright. The only thing I am a little worried about is the swim with the dolphins. Will she be able to hold on so she can swim with them. It is her right are and she is right handed.

We finally made it home and she has eaten a little something, took some more pain meds and is now resting peacefully. We will see how long that last. She ended up breaking both bones in the arm as close to her wrist as you can get without breaking the wrist. So she has a cast on from her fingers to her armpit. We go see the ortho doc on Thursday for a recheck on her foot, which she is still limping on. I am going to see about getting the waterproof cast on the Friday before we leave for our wish trip. I have sent our wish coordinator an e-mail asking about still swimming with the dolphins and I think I am going to call them myself tomorrow when we get back from the hospital. Yes we have to go back tomorrow for an appointment.
Anyway, she is doing ok right at the moment, but I know the pain will be worse tomorrow. The next day is always worse. Thanks to everyone for the prayers and I will keep everyone posted on how she is doing.

Poor Madison! Wow she could really use her trip, a week of fun and relaxation! I hoep her wrist gets better fast! I agree that you should probably call Discovery Cove and make sure she can swim with the dolphins with a waterproof cast on. I know that is a big part of her wish!

WOW! I am so sorry to hear about the arm. That totally sucks! I hope she'll still be able to swim with the dolphins. Hopefully a waterproof cast can help with that!!! If you do still go, maybe the characters can sign the cast. That could be one way to turn another clink in the armor (so to speak) into a positive. She is such a trooper!

They did take great care of her last night. They took an x-ray of Looey (her bear she got from the big give) and put a cast on his arm as well. I will post a pic later tonight. Hasn't been in to much pain today. I am keeping Motrin in her. Thanks for the hugs.

She is normally a fast healer, however I think this one will take a little longer than normal only because it is a total break and is both bones. I am going to call Discovery Cove as soon as I can, but her wish lady said it should be ok as long as we get something from the doc saying it is ok. Thank you so much for the concern.

She is pretty much pain free. I think I am going to keep her in the house in a bubble until we leave. lol That's probably the only way to stay incident free. Thanks for posting.

I told her that it would be ok even if they wouldn't let her on there is so much to do she wouldn't miss them. I also told her that she has rode them all before and we will go again and she can ride them then. She said ok. I also told her that when we get her waterproof cast on that we wouldn't let anyone sign it until we got to GKTW that way all the characters would have room to sign in and she can keep it. She was pretty excited about that. She has a red cast from a past break that Santa sign the year before last. The waterproof cast are wonderful for more than the obvious reason, but also because when they come off they don't stink like a regular cast. Thanks for everything and we will talk soon.

That is so cute that they x-rayed Looey and put him in a cast too! I'll have to remember that the waterproof casts don't stink like the regular ones. When DS broke his finger earlier this year, it stunk to high heaven when they took it off...and even before. There is only so much you can do to try to keep a regular one from getting wet. Good thing our newspapers are still delivered inplastic and we had lots of heavy duty tape in the house!
