Just booked our VERY FIRST DISNEY WOLD VACATION!!!!:cool1:
We are booked for 9/10/13-9/19/13 at CSR with the DxDP!

I thought I was excited before... words can not describe how much more excited I am now. It will be my DH's first trip, would you believe his parents left him home while they went! He was ten!! Needless to say he is bitter about this! It will also be our two sons first time!

We have been through so much in the last few years that we need this badly. We were unemployed for 22 months, had two miscarriages, lost our home, found out my mother has cancer, struggled through both of us going to school full-time with two small children and no income...

Now that we are putting the pieces back together we felt that we needed to celebrate making it through this rough time. We hope that it will be the first of many trips to come.

So what do you think should be our first ever Disney World Ride as a family? Thinking maybe one with a ride picture. Any suggestions?

Congratulations on this wonderful reward for a trying time! If you are planning on going to MK for your first park, I suggest Pirates of the Caribbean, but that's just cuz that's a favorite of mine! :goodvibes

If you want one with a ride pic, I suggest Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin. You would have to get two pics since you would each be with a child in a cart, but you'd be surprised at how amusing those pics can come out when you're concentrating so hard on blasting an alien!

I don't have to tell you to enjoy yourselves, because that is a given! :thumbsup2

Congratulations. The second week in September is a great time to go, low crowds and Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party.

He might become more bitter after your trip when he finds out how wonderful it is at WDW. :-)
My DS and DD were 3 and 5 when we went on our first trip in 2010 and it was the perfect age. Ya'll are going to have so much fun watching your son's faces at all the things they see.

Wow. After all of that, WDW is the perfect place to go on vacation. It is the only place I go where I have no worries.

Pirates of the Caribbean or Peter Pan's Flight.

Have fun planning. This thread was a lot of help planning our ADR's there might be a newer one but I have not found it.

Congratulations on making it through your tough times and for booking your trip. I know how exciting that feeling is. I'm not normally so excited to see money vanishing from my bank account. LOL!

What park do you think you will hit up first? MK? There aren't a ton of on-ride photos for the more "family friendly" rides, unfortunately - but maybe you'd like your first family photo to be on Main Street with the castle in the background? :)

It's great to have something to look forward to after all the trying times you've had :)

I agree about the family picture at MK in front of the castle. What better first picture could there be? For a ride picture, I'd say maybe Splash Mountain, to capture all of you at once :)

Thanks everyone! We are all so excited!

I ordered park maps and my little guys have been looking over them constantly. They love maps (I think it comes from their geography major dad! He loves maps too!) and have enjoyed pointing out things on them that they want to do. Like "Mickey's Fire Lake with the Dragon" (which we would lovingly call Fantasmic!), and "The Race Cars that go around the Building" (Test Track), and "The Place with the Pyramid you eat in" (Mexico), or "The Place with the Pyramid Pool" (Coronado springs), and "The thing with the boats and the silly animals" (Jungle Cruise). I am just loving their excitement!

It sure is nice to have so much to look forward to now! My DH is finally graduating in May, and then we have our first family vacation looming right around the corner from that! Hopefully he'll get a nice job shortly after graduating and we'll have even more to celebrate!
