Today was my 180+10 mark for our visit in June. We will be visiting the parks for just 2 days before our cruise.
I have to say....am I the only one who remembers dining in the 80s? I remember going to EPCOT and there was a dining reservation building at the back of Spaceship Earth. I remember going there every time we went to EPCOT and if we went first thing in the morning we had no trouble getting a reservation anywhere! I also remember that we walked into Crystal Palace every time without a reservation (of course, that's before it turned into a character meal).
A few years ago on our first trip with our son, we were 4 months before our trip and I was talking to my SIL about where we wanted to eat. And she said, "you haven't made your reservations yet???" And I was like, no, we're still 4 months out and we're going in a non-peak time (September). Needless to say, I called for reservations and I couldn't get Chef Mickeys and the only time we could get at Crystal Palace was at 2:30 in the afternoon. So I learned my lesson--now I always make ADRs on the first possible date.
So anyways....for this trip we are going to be eating at Crystal Palace at 8:10 a.m. We've only ever done lunch at CP, but after reading about how nice it is to walk down Main Street USA before the park opens, we decided to give it a try. We're also having lunch at the Plaza Restaurant, mainly to keep cool. DH is taking oldest DS to Star Wars Weekend, so they will dine at Sci Fi while I take the 2 younger kids to EPCOT and we'll have lunch at Chefs de France.
