I take my two best GFs to Disney in October and we do F&W every year. We live in SC and drive down, spend 3 nights and drive home.
Partygoers are myself ( DVC owner, I pick up the room and have been to WDW a million times) Nancy - another WDW vet and Becky ( who'd only been to WDW once a million years ago before F&W and now LOVES these trips ) Nancy and I do a lot of the planning around Becky as it's so much fun to watch her do everything for the first time.
This year, we're staying at AKL ( usually stay at BWV but Bec was soooo excited about the animals off the balcony ) and we made our reservations for that 7 months out.
We made our dining reservations at 180 days. We buy the dining plan, and this year we decided to use two credits to do the Hoop de Doo ( for Bec - she really wants to see the show ) and do only one other TS restaurant.
So our plans were- drive in Monday- get situated at AKL, have a cocktail, freshen up and head to Epcot. Eat a CS meal as some point while walking around the World Showcase.
Tues- parks all day, back to AKL to freshen up and take our vehicle over to Fort Wilderness for the 7PM HDDR.
Wed- Parks in the AM, back to the room to swim, early dinner ( 4:45 ) at Boma and then back to the parks for our last night.
Thurs- hit the road.
So, anyway, I made the reservations at 180 days. Then I read about Via Napoli and we decided to add it ( and pay cash to split pizza, apps etc ) to Monday night. I called MS and found out.....that when I made my original dining reservations at 180 days out, a mistake was made ( and it wasn't mine ) and BOTH my dining reservations were for Wednesday night. So, they had me at Boma at 4:45 and then the HDDR at 7.
Well, obviously that was a mistake on the part of the person who entered the reservation....but now HDDR is sold out for Tuesday, I had to cancel Boma on Wed ( since we sure aren't doing both ) and I couldn't get an early reservation to replace it. I'll be calling first thing Friday morning to try to score Via Napoli and we'll maybe put that on Tuesday night instead, but this little screw up has really made us have to adjust some plans.
Did the MS rep seem to care....Ummm not so much.
At least I called about Via Napoli. If not, my first indication of a problem would have been at will call for HDDR on Tuesday night. When they couldn't find my name.
