Made Christmas Reservations today!

Boy! Am I excited! We're coming back to the Fort for Christmas! December 19th-29. I went back and forth about it with DH, as we still have a younger "believer", but we think it will be fine. Can't wait!

Maybe DH, he's the fisherman. He didn't get to fish last time we were there. We had read you could fish in the canals, so I had requested to back up to the canal on the 2000 loop. Big surprise, almost no water.

But what better place to be if it does?

As long as we can get there first. I'd be perfectly fine "going out" at my campsite in my lounge chair next to DH, toasting with our red plastic cups.

We've been kicking the idea around, and now that I try to get a ressie, I can only get a pop up site!! Can't believe it's sold out already!! I've even moved my dates a million ways either way!! Well I guess I can believe it...who wouldn't want to be at the Fort for Christmas! Any suggestions

We have reservations for the same time also. When you call for reservations, have them try every available option. Even if the dates aren't exactly what you want, take what you can and keep trying. That's what we did for 2009 and it worked for us. Good luck.

I've had years when I couldn't get Thanksgiving week in January - and Christmas is waaaaaaaaay more crowded.

But keep trying! Cancellations happen and sometimes you can piece together the dates you want a day or 2 at a time.

About two weeks ago, I finished up our reservatons for 12/24 thru 1/15. It took a total of 13 calls to complete the reservations. It can be done! Just keep at it
