Thanks again guys for all the advice and opinions on the other thread!

We have been doing tons of thinking on this and been back and fourth on it. We have been reading everyone's advice and talked to my dr and our pedi. After everything we have decided to try and go! (no flames needed.. ;) )

The pedi says he has had many parents travel with newborns and as long as the child is well cared for and we are not letting 100 people hold him or be in his face then we are fine. He said he should do great.

We know there are certain things to factor in, and we will definately be taking things slow out there and keeping the baby in the ac as much as possible. We will not have people all in his face either so the whole germ thing is not a worry. I mean there are just as many germs at the grocery store, park, etc.. ESP the hospital..lol

So anyways, we are so excited as is our little boy about getting to go back again. I can hardly contain myself. We really did not think we would get to go back again for a good while so this is so exciting for us. We may even have my parents and siblings going with us as well which will be awesome!

We call the TA to book in the morning.

So, now for people who have taken young ones before.. the baby will be about 6 weeks old. Any good tips for taking them at that age? I know he will sleep and eat and that is about it. I plan to see about that sunscreen that is safe on babies under 6 months and take a good sunshade for the stroller. Any other tips you have to share?

Thanks so much again for all the advice in the other thread. It gave me tons to think about and look into before making the choice! :goodvibes

I think the hardest thing this time around is having two kids and balancing that without physically doing too much when you are still in the recovery period after your birth. Someone told me that the second child is 100 times the work of the first. :rotfl2: It's not quite that bad, but you do need to pace yourself after you have the baby and not overdue so you're ready for your trip.

Glad you decided to make the trip. When we went when DD was 7 months, we took it very slow. I'm sure you weren't thinking of commando style touring from morning till night in the first place. The slow pace will probably be fine for your little boy, too, as little ones that age get tired of the heat and lines very quickly. There were days when we didn't make it out of our room until 2 P.M. and other days when we had dinner in our room. Enjoy being in a beautiful resort and take advantage of all it has to offer. Some of the best moments that we had was when DD was asleep and we were either relaxing on our balcony or getting DVD's and watching them in our room at night (we are DVC members and therefore, had a one bedroom with a DVD player). I can't think of a better place for you to recover some more from the birth and have a nice change of scene. If you need anything in the way of baby equipment, I highly recommend A Baby's Best Friend (www.abbf.com). We rented a crib, swing, baby monitor, and exersaucer from them. I believe they also provide bassinetts if you need one. Enjoy and let us know how it turned out when you get back.
