Bonnet Creek is great! I stayed there with a friend in December, and will do so again in February before a Disney cruise. Yes, a car does make things easier there - even when you're practically on Disney property!
Delta has no non-stops to Orlando. However, the last 2 return flights I booked from Orlando on AirTran have been connecting so I wouldn't have to get up so early! Once the decision was made to connect, it was a matter of who had the best fare. Even though AirTran won't be booking early May for awhile, I'd be surprised to see them have a fare lower than $79 on a Monday.
wed100105 Hi we are going almost the same days as you. I don't have air purchased, I'm stalking/watching it. I would like to try Bloomington but I really don't like that airtran changes their flight times, but I might try them. I hope I get as good as prices as you. We live between Midway and Bloomington so I go where it is the cheapest.
Nancy,
I noticed that, too. If I book through Orbitz though can I call Airtran if the flights go down? I was hoping to book around $125 and then snag a deal and have them credit the difference.
Yes, we're flying out of Bloomington. We live 10 minutes from the Peoria airport, but love the nonstop service out of BMI to MCO. We flew Airtran this summer out of BMI and I can't say enough good things about the experience. It was wonderful. At that time, I booked our flights for $200 pp after taxes.
I have booked through orbitz/expedia and then called Airtran direct for the price decrease. At the time, I was told that they normally wouldn't do it but they did it for me anyway. That was several years ago. Since then, I always book direct with the airlines. It's much easier.

I am only 10 minutes from Peoria, 45 from Bloomington. I would much rather fly out of PIA, but since there are no nonstop options to MCO, we fly out of BMI. I love Bloomington's airport. It's so small and cozy. Free parking is a big plus for me.
I will be interested to see if we have to pay for bags this go around with airtran since DH is military. We shall see.
I'm still wondering if $500 is worth the extra money to not have to drive. I guess I'll know when we get there and back safe and sound.
I haven't ever had a connection added with an Airtran flight, nor had this particular flight canceled/changed more than a couple of minutes. If they do add a connection, we'll get a refund and drive. I wouldn't pay that for a connection flight.

I booked the non-stop on two occasions (several years ago), and they were changed to connecting flights. I don't mind connecting on the way home, but I definitely prefer the non-stop going to Orlando
