Madame, the duck? The good, the bad and the ugly of 4 days on the DDxP with Pics

I'm sorry to laugh at your expense, but your dinner at Chefs is just comical! I cannot believe the comedy of errors that occurred!
I am enjoying your reviews, looks like you had some good meals! :)

It's a shame, the service you guys had was beyond horrible. You truly never expect that in WDW.:sad2:

Now I understand your thread title!!!

OMG it was almost all I could do not to bust out loud here at work while reading about your duck. Way to funny. Thanks for posting your pictures - they are great!

Hey, don't worry about it. It really was kind-of comical, even at the time. Two weeks later, we really giggle about it when we talk about it. At the timeI felt like I was trapped in a bad "I Love Lucy" episode!:lmao:

When trying to come up with a title, both DH and I said in unison; "Madame, the duck?" I knew that's what it had to be!!:rotfl2:

Glad you're enjoying the reviews! Overall our experiences were great. This was definitely the exception, not the rule! We had lots of fun trying new places and it was odd that our only return visit was such a bust! I guess you just never know!:confused3

enjoying your reviews photos!

and how you ever eat those esgargots, i'll never know - i tried them last year at F&W (in those mini brioche) - obviously an "acquired taste"!

You have alot more patience that I do, I would have walked out of there if I had to wait that long for a meal. Hope the rest of your meals went better. :goodvibes

Just out of curiosity did you tip 18%?

I usually wouldn't wait that long either. Epcot was absolutley PACKED that night though and I'm not sure where else we could've eaten unless we left the park. At the point we would've left, it was after 9:00.

And no, we didn't leave 18%. I waitress part time in addition to my baking job. I can always sympathize with wait staff having a bad night, but this was beyond bad. I think we left around 12%. That was probably generous, but it was what I felt comfortable with. That and I think that if we had to wait for change, we would've missed the bus entirely!

Wow! Y'all had penny service! That's what my mom would leave when service was really, really bad. Why a penny? Because a server can write you off as a cheapskate if you leave nothing but leaving a penny sends a message.

I'm with you, though. I've been a server and I know what it is like to get weeded and never find my way out. I would probably have left 10% also.

The dog whistle look had me cracking up, though. And your CDF review is the straw that broke the camel's back for me. I just changed our ressie there to a ressie at Raglan Road. Claudia scared me off!

Just wanted to say I really enjoyed reading your reviews! We're going to DW next month with free dining, and we have ressies at California Grill and Les Chefs de France, but now I'm rethinking that one! :rotfl2:

I'm so enjoying your reviews! I like that you really appreciate the food. We're going to Ca Grill and Artist Point on our upcoming trip and you have made me even more excited. Thanks!

We just got back from our trip a few days ago and I have to agree with your Chefs review. We had dinner there our first night and I'm sorry to say it was probably our least favorite meal of the trip. The service was slow (not as slow as your experience thankfully) and the food was just ok. Our meals really weren't anything that I couldn't make at home. Hopefully your other meals were much better, ours were!
