My family stopped by the Mad T Party last weekend and were surprised how much fun it was. We're not really big into dance parties and EleTRONica didn't really do anything for us, but we found Mad T to fun.
The first thing you see when you enter from by Muppets is a big archway. At 7 pm (when the party starts) Tweedle Dee and Dum come out a do a little show:
The arch is full of mist (which later in the night ends up making the walkway pretty slick - they had cleaners with squeegy-brush brooms trying to control the water). Once past the arch you either end up in front of the main stage, where Alice, the Mad Hatter, and the White Rabbit are or you can go to the Drink Me bar (one of two bars). YOu can see the White Rabbit sticking up from inside the tea cup (She looks much better when it's dark because her ears light up):
Both of the bars have the same menu. The other bar is in the back, by the arcade and second stage (it has a more elaborate set-up).
On the second stage there was an acrobat in a rainbow slinky costume:
It seemed like she alternated with a dance crew. When Alice and the Mad Hatter were out, neither the dancers nor the rainbow slinky were out. Alice and Mad Hatter did an assortment of pretty standard/classic rock/pop songs. Both times we heard the 8 pm music set and it ended with Journey's Faithfully.
The arcade had lots of games. The token machines ($0.25/token) had neat Mad T tokens (they were still nice and shiny!). We walked quickly through the arcade, but didn't play anything. I saw basketball, a dance party type game, and several others.
My favorite part of the the party were the slushies (non-alcoholic). They came in four flavors: green apple, pear, cotton candy, and mandarin. We tried the green apple and pear. You can get it in a Mad T Party Mad Hatter cup, a twisted yard, a sipper cup, or just in a cup. If you opt for the twisted yard (which I did on the second night), be aware it holds about 4 cups of slushie!
Among the wandering performers was a stilt walker dressed as a flamingo. He was really neat!
Some other decorations and signs around the Party:
The chairs were really popular in the evening...especially the ones near the bar and main stage!
Overall, the decorations looked the best when it was dark. The neon lighting really stood out:
