Mad T Party in DCA, Coming June 15th.

Oh wow, this is the first I'm seeing of this.
Uh..it looks interesting? The concept art is cool and all but this looks like something we'll be glad to miss out on.

While many people have shown prejudice, millions more have enjoyed the predecessors, ElecTRONica and Glow Fest that took place in the same manner. Also keep in mind attractions of this same styles have existed for decades in Disneyland Park.

ElcTRONica's last night is April 15th.

Sorry if I offended you, but I was stating an opinion. I said the concept art looks cool, and it really does. The costumes and set look absolutely amazing, and I'm sure it's going to be a great show. It's not like I said they show was going to be awful, It's just something that's not my style. :confused3

I didn't get to see ElecTRONica but wished I could. I did see Glowfest and it was ok at best. This looks like the worst of the three. I say that without seeing it first hand until this summer. Is this the best they could come up with? Looks like a bad rave party to me. I guess we'll have to see.

I'm still hopeful it might be fun, but at the moment I tend to agree with you about the concept art making it look like the worst of the three. Glowfest was fun but ElecTRONica was great and blew it out of the water IMHO. Trying to reserve judgement but it looks so ... cheesy compared to the fun vibe I got from the concept art of ElecTRONica.

You might be right. But I will reserve judgement. GlowFest sounded strange before they offered it, but once I was there and saw it, it was fun and helped do something previously not done at DCA - keep people inside DCA at night. It was really meant as a spillover for folks waiting for WOC in 2010. But it morphed into something in its own right and was a surprise hit.

I am not sure ElecTRONica was all that much better, but it had the same effect as GF and kept folks around DCA at night. It also created a vibe that I thought was right for DCA.

The Mad T Party does seem lesser than the others. But realize it will not be there on its own. It will be there with the new BVS and street shows and singers at DCA HollywoodLand and Carthay Circle Theater. And Disney has had more time to plan it - ElecTRONica seemed like it was put together quickly as a replacement for GF when Disney had no long term plan to have a night show at DCA.

Mad T Party has the most Disney "roots". Heck, GlowFest had zero Disney roots and succeeded. ElecTRONica was based on a very average movie that had little Disney connection and succeeded. Mad T Party has the most potential of all the three to do something really fun and really Disney. So I will wait and see.

yoyo93 complimented the concept art, said the idea looked interesting, then just stated it wasn't something that was appealing personally.

It's not like yoyo made a disparaging remark aimed at you for posting the info; if he/she had, paying attention to mom's advice would make sense.

But given what was actually posted, I don't get the defensive attitude. :confused3

The point of a discussion board is to discuss, and that includes expressing opinions, both positive and negative - yes?

I love the costumes in the concept art! I am anxious to see how the crowds will respond to the party! I commend Disney for taking a chance on something different and I think ,overall, people like this diversion.:thumbsup2

I think some people are forgetting that all things Alice and Wonderland have quite the cult following from a lot of people. I, for one, love this idea, and feel like it has more long term appeal than Glowfest or ElecTRONica.

I saw GF once and thought it looked neat but it was still in the early stages (had only been open for maybe a week). Sadly we've never seen Electronica though we've heard it's a lot of fun. I'm really excited about this new concept.

As far as negative opinions...i always welcome negative experiences and reviews. They may help others when making decisions. This was neither. Maybe it's the mom in me, but as I tell my kids you can't dislike something if you've never tried it.

here are some different more up close concept pics

The party is almost ready – the decorations are going up and, the invitations have been sent and, of course, we are preparing the most wondiferous music your ears have ever heard! It’s almost time to let the Futterwacken begin!

But first, let me share with you a little about the music …

Our Mad T Party band will rock out each night, their playlist overfizzing with a multitude of party favorites, both old and new. In fact, the Mad Hatter has put together a list of songs – from Bruno Mars to the Beatles … from Maroon 5 to Prince … and from Gwen Stefani to Lady Gaga! These are songs that invite you to “Just Dance“… “Raise Your Glass”…“Go Crazy”…and show off your “Moves Like Jagger!”

You won’t want to miss the fantabulous Mad T Party band as they invite everyone to join in for the most fuminous T-Time ever!!

But that’s not all! Whenever the band is offstage, some of the most popular DJs around will kick up the party with their own special brand of musical magic!

Throughout the summer, taking on the role of the “White Rabbit DJ” will be Jason Jass, Michael Paul, Adam Auburn, Mi$$y B, David Bullock and Wendy Walker!!

These talented DJs will serve up the maddest mixes of muchness … the most popular tunes … the latest dance hits … and the best beamish beats that will make you bonkers … but, I’ll tell you a secret: all the best people are!

Well, the clock is ticking; we have much more to do in order to prepare a party as grand as this one! We have to secure the Rabbit Hole, stack the House of Cards, and find the Hatter’s hat! So much has been done, and there’s so still much to do. Mad T Party is coming, and we hope to see YOU! Oh, and don’t forget, HATS are always welcome when you show up for T!
