ooooooo pretty!

But your new siggy pic freaks me out more than the manwich!

Thank you, did those blossoms make you feel like Spring had sprung? It was to get you in the mood for my announcement about the spring exchange. Did it work?

I love the flowers, but the only thing that feels like spring here is the sun. Can you speed up Mother Nature Bon?

I agree with Ang, your signature feet are FREAKY! I hate feet. I won't even go in for a pedicure because I'm afraid to see other peoples feet.:rolleyes1

Becca, I have thrown you numerous parades but you can't see me! :sad2:

or maybe you're ignoring me.....:furious:

Its all wonky again. And I love a good parade too.:sad2:

It's 2 am, and I am still working on this flipping cake. Someone shoot me.

Good morning chatters! :hippie:

Bonnie, does that picture in the siggy mean anything?

I thought you were just going to put those beads you "earned" at Mardi Gras on it???

-- Rob

The only beads I've ever earned are beads of sweat!!! If I ever went down for Mardi Gras, people would probably throw beads at me trying to get me to put my shirt BACK ON.:sad2:

Next time buy a cake at the supermarket or Costco. ;)
I hope you got to sleep

I totally wish I could have, but this is a decorating contest, and it all has to be from scratch. Someone tell me again why this is part of a BOY SCOUT function? I thought Scouts was going to be my opportunity to hand DH the reins for once, but so far, it's been a ton of work for ME! (sewing badges, popcorn sales, baking...) When do we get to the manly stuff?:confused3

Allright. Back to the cake! I am now to the fun part-- rolling out and applying all of the fondant I made 2 days ago and colored last night. Keep your fingers crossed. This may be the ugliest, most labor-intensive cake ever made!

Good luck, Shannon!!! :woohoo:

BTW, I used to have a bunny that look exactly like the one in your siggy! Her name was Muffin! She passed away a few years ago due to a tumor. (Debbie Downer, no???)

Shannnon - I bet the cake will look better than you think it does!

I took a chunk out of my butt today while trying to get in my car and rather than getting in the car...I fell under it. My car was next to a bush and the bush attacked my butt. Now I can't sit down & Shaun isn't home so I can't see how bad it is.

I HATE SNOW.

And to the tune of "Winter Wonderland"

"I'm Sick of Winter In New England"

Snow plows plow, are ya listnen?
In da street, black ice glistnen.
A horrible sight, I'm pissed off tonight,
I'm sick of _ winter in New England!

Freezing rain, sleet and hail,
Slide off da road and hit a guard rail.
Yer shovellin stack, an' throw out ya back.
I'm sick of _ winter in New England!

In da mornin I will scrape my car off,
To spend da day in line for milk an' bread.
Then I gotta find a place to park it,
That ain't reserved with chairs by _ jerks.

Later on a storm's upon us,
As da roof collapses upon us.
Everything's white, I'm fed up tonight,
I'm sick of _ winter in New England!

Done with baseball for today and now home for 30 minutes before we head off to basketball games, followed by a basketball pizza party, and an indoor pool (swimming pool, not shooting pool) birthday party, and then back home for about 30 minutes before heading out for my annual night out with the guys (my buddies from high school -- yes, I do have real life friends).

Speaking of the night out, do I want to have a nice steak tonight at a good steak place or do I want to go to Cheesecake Factory and have crab cakes and shepherd's pie? Just having a meal without my kids around (with plenty of "Tales of Ribaldry") and without being rushed to get back to work (the only other time I get to eat without kids) will be pleasant enough.

Here's what I remember from my scouting days:
1) The cake decorating contest was also a fundraiser. Are they planning on selling your cake? Having a cake auction?

2) Most dads get involved during Pinewood Derby and overnight camping and that's about it. Some dads were involved in all of it but those were the big two for paternal involvement. Many dads also get more involved if and when the boys move from Cub Scouts into Boy Scouts.

I'm sure your cake will be fine also.

:lmao: And here I was thinking-- "What a cute Easter Bunny, drinking a crappy beer!" Sorry about Muffin!

:rotfl2:  I hope your butt has a quick & speedy recovery! I'm so sorry for laughing at your misery, but you painted a funny picture there!!

And now, for the big reveal!!! After approximately 7 odd hours of work & shopping for the stuff, here is the Mardi Gras cake for the contest at DS 9's Boy Scout banquet:

Not perfect, but pretty good for my first attempt at fondant.
