So we bought a new dining room set from Macy's a couple of weeks ago. When we bought it, they told us we couldn't pick it up and it would have to be delivered. Delivery charge is $150. Not happy about that, but, hey, we like the set, so OK. The salesperson then tells us that the set can only be delivered during the day, no nighttime deliveries. Not happy about that either, until she says they have Saturday deliveries. OK, much better, now I don't have to take a day off from work.
So Friday I get a call that the furniture is going to be delivered Saturday (as in yesterday) between 12 & 3. Well, we all know how that goes, and before I know it the window is now between 5 & 8:30!!!! What??? I thought you didn't deliver after 5PM??
This doesn't really work for us because we have plans to go watch the Phillies game at SIL & BILs house, but now have no choice and stay home.
8:30 comes and goes with no call from the delivery people. Of course, we don't have their number and Macy's says to check online to see when they'll be here. Check online and it still says 8:30, so we figure they are on their way. Finally go to bed after the game (it ended at 2:15AM) and still no furniture.
Now today, we have plans to go to our trailer at the lake and close it for the season, since it has to be off the lot by Friday. But NOOOOOOO, now we have to wait and see what time the furniture is coming. The website is not updated. According to that it is still coming yesterday at 8:30. No one at the store knows anything or how to get in touch with the delivery people. Can I say that it is still NOT here!!!!!
So now I have to take tomorrow off from work to wait for something that should have been here yesterday. Talk about being angry. DH says that when they show up to refuse delivery. But what does good will that do? We don't have a dining set.
I am going to write to Macy's. At the minimum I think they should waive the delivery fee, especially since we were willing to pick it up. I'll never, ever buy furniture, or anything that needs delivery from them again.
Thanks for listening!
