For those who may have missed the parade this year.( I know I was busy cooking..and didn't get to see to much of it) My son works in Manhattan (NYPD). Thought some of you might be interested in taking a look. These were taken with his blackberry. (just to make mom happy..he hates the parade..what a grump!)
I'd love to see it in person one day. Of course, that would mean someone else would have to do the cooking!

Snoopy is my all time favorite!!!

As an NYC Cop, your DS probably doesn't like the "down side" of the parade - and with crowds the size of the Macy's Parade crowd, I'm sure there are a lot of down sides. :sad2:

That Blackberry takes great pics! Thanks for sharing.:thumbsup2

Thanks for posting the pics! I missed the parade this year due to some construction in our house. The tv antenna was disconnected and I couln't find it on satellite. :confused3 I told dh all this work had better be finished in time for decorating for Christmas! :headache:

Way cool pics ! :thumbsup2
I'd like to see that in person too,,,but aint gonna happen, not gonna fight the crowds.

I think everyone in the country likes the Macy's parade except the people who live in NYC. My sister lived in Manhattan for almost 10 years and would kvetch about it every holiday.

My son didn't even have to "work it" this year...and he still complains about it!... Although from what he tells us it's one of the nicer parades.. In that it doesn't attract the low life scum that some of them do. He says there are A LOT of tourists (okay, sorry but..he calls them "goobers":sad2: ) that loose their kids.

Which is funny, because two weeks ago his family of "goobers" went to see Mary Poppins on Broadway. We lost my daughter....and she's 21! It's really easy to get seperated at a corner when crossing in a sea of people. He was so mad at her, I think he wanted to send her back home!Funny thing is that he was on the CBS news last year, because he found a litle lost boy, who had been seperated from his family when they came to visit the city.
I still have to stop myself from "looking up" when I walk through the city. It amazes me still. Although, I find it a little too intimidating to deal with on any kind of regular basis, I don't know how he works there and does the job he does. Did I mention he can be grumpy?...

Thank you for posting the pictures......I have always always wanted to visit NYC! I would be one of those lost goobers though.

Thanks Phyllis.

I was cleaning up today and found a FEMA cd I had from the WTC. We worked with them closely at the site and they gave me a lot of pictures because our BDE commander and Giuliani didn't want us to take pictures. I won't post them here right now.

You and me both..I always say, that if I went into the city alone, they'd have to send a search party in for me. Now..I have a police escort...only he drives through Manhattan as if he was in a police car responding to a call...I mean taxi drivers..have nothin' on him. I literally closed my eyes. (and made sure my seat belt was on):scared1:

I thought that was a prerequisite for working and living in Manhattan!

Hey...maybe we should set up your sister with my son?..sound like two of a kind!

Thanks Phyllis.

Guliani..."America's mayor" Hmm..I've got mixed feelings about him. ...not held in such high regard by fire or police here though.:rolleyes1

Yeah.... The Army wasn't real happy with him either --- you never want to get between him and a tv camera - he'll trample you getting to it!
