MEDIA ALERT: MACYS HOLIDAY PARADE BRINGS A TOUCH OF NEW YORK CITY STRAIGHT TO UNIVERSAL ORLANDO
Parade Showcases High-Flying Balloons, Colorful Floats,
Marching Bands From Across America, and a Traveling Tour Bus
WHAT: Universal Orlando Resort brings the holiday season to life with the Macys Holiday Parade at Universal Studios from December 8 through January 1. Each evening the Macys Holiday Parade fills the streets with authentic balloons direct from the Macys Thanksgiving Day Parade, as well as floats, performers in colorful costumes and marching bands.
This years Macys Holiday Parade incorporates beloved favorites with a few new additions to the festivities. Two new floats will make their debut the Story Time float, complete with Mother Goose and other storybook characters and the School Bus float, with graduates and a professor driver.
Guests can also get a close-up view of the free-standing, cold air balloons on display in the Balloonopolis area of Universal Studios. This area showcases new characters like Scooby Doo, Garfield and Pikachu.
Also in Balloonopolis, a Macys Tour Bus gives guests a behind-the-scenes look at the parade, including an interactive video demonstration by the Macys Flight School on how to fly balloons, and a history of how the giant helium balloons are created. Guests can also get their pictures taken as a clown, float escort or balloon handler as well as view exhibits and a 3-D parade history wall.
