Would this be good for a 7 yr old for those times when she does not want to walk? (Which is more often than not) I am so torn between just renting a double stroller for both our kids, 4 and 7, or buying 2 Volo strollers. We will be doing all the parks, Downtown Disney and SeaWorld. Any input?? TIA

Carolyn

I'd be tempted to rent with a 7 year old. I tried my 4.5 year old in the Volo and she fit fine but an averaged sized 7 year old likely would not.

I don't know if a 7 year old would fit comfortably in a Volo, I'm guessing probably not unless she's small for her age. My DS is nearly 3 and at 39 inches, it's a little squishy for him.

She is tall but skinny. About 10 lbs below the maximum weight for the Volo.

Thanks for your input. I have the worst time making decisions.:)

My six year old who is also tall and skinny loves the Volo! I bought it for our last trip in October and I don't know how I lived without it before. I also have a Combi for our 3.5 year old and I thought I used to like it until the Volo...It is now my regular stroller for the mall and such and every chance she gets, she climbs in! You will not regret it! When you get back you can sell it on ebay!!!

If your local target carries the volo see if they have them on sale on the budget board or maybe even this board some one posted that their target has them on sale for 50 dollars. Today I got one at a local thrift store 2006 model in excellent condition for 20 dollars.

ETA~ my dd's are 7 and 4, I bring two seperate strollers. dd4 doesn't walk so she has to ride in the stroller every where we go and dd7 doesn't so we usually go to one area park the stroller and do the things in that area.

I have not been able to find the Volo for $50 anywhere. I've checked 2 Targets in my area and they were $69 and all sold out!

My DD 7 is about 50" tall and 53# and she used the Volo in November when we went to DL. While she certainly didn't fit in it as well as she used to, she still did fit and was comfortable enough to fall asleep in it at night. I know many people are in favor of renting strollers for older kids, but then you only have the stroller for in the parks, and for my DD most of the day in the parks she didn't even use the stroller, mainly in the evening. My DD fell asleep while still in the park and it would have been awful if we had to get her out of the stroller and then carry her back to the hotel or make her walk. There are no rental strollers in Downtown Disney.

We bought a Volo for our DD in 2005 (just turning 7). We bought it only for Disney (cheaper than renting) and she fit just fine in it then and she used it again in 2006 (just turned 8). They hold up to 55 pounds (I think much more). They are a great stroller and she still fits in ours (just turned 9 now). She is at 60 pounds, not sure about her height. She wants to take it again for our trip in 3 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!but I told her its a no go this time. She will be a walker now-especially since we have a 3 month old and we dont want to have to keep up with 2 strollers!!

We just went with a Volo and it was great! Our son is six and he's big. 64 pounds and 90th percentile for height too. He hasn't been in a stroller for years but loved it at WDW. There is no way he would have made it walking that much (at least not happily). Anyway, he's huge and he fit fine in it and it worked great.

Make sure you get something to make it stand out (there are a lot of mac's at WDW).

I bought mine at allbee baby.....online....it was 99. Worth every penny.

Well, I bought the Volo. Thanks for all the info. I know my daughter and I will be much happier.:) I think I got a good price. $75.99 on Ebay new in the box.

Welcome to the club!

My name is K. and am addicted to our MAC strollers. I have two stroller age children and 3 MACs (must sell one, really must)!! oh dear.

I have also been to Disney with a 6 and 9 year old and have been very very happy to have a stroller for them (they did share one that trip)

Have a magical trip!!

OK, I'm just a dad. And, my boys are 11 and 15. And, I might just be having a senior moment...:lmao:

But, I don't ever remember bringing a stroller for a kid over 5. :confused3 Yes, there was that one time when the 3yr was going strong and the 7yr crashed, but, I wouldn't have drug a stroller around just for that.

Thank you so much for the tip on the Volo at Target! I went to one the other day and it was $69 and I said I will wait. Sure enough I went to one a little out of the way and they had one left and it was $49!!!:cool1: Thanks so much cancer_survivor_06 !
Twitterpated Dad I would much rather push a stroller-a lite one at that-than hear my DD6 whine and cry because she is tired. Also, it gives us a place to store things underneath and it also gives my Dh and nyself a few moments to ourselves because some of the time, our kids actually fall asleep in the stroller!!!
kileybethHave a great trip!!!

What is the weight limit for the Volo? My family doesn't think we need one for my 6yo nephew, but I think we will.

Exactly! My daughter could not walk around the mall let alone Disney.:) I'm sure it will make our trip much more enjoyable.

The weight limit is 55# although others have used it for heavier kids as stated in previous posts.:)

my 7 year old dd fit just fine in the volo, she is average height and weighs about 80 lbs at the time (last year). She thought it was really comfortable. Volo was actually for my ds3, but she was more tired than he was.

She was actually 8 at the time. Renting gets very expensive and kids do get tired with all the walking.
