I have a lot of sympathy for this woman. I can't even imagine having to deal with that kind of upbringing. Neglect and abuse combined with every kind of excess imaginable. Any of those three things can really mess someone up and she had it all.

I feel really sorry for her. No wonder the poor woman can't keep it together. That is some heavy stuff for a person to deal with, I can't imagine!

A very short preview clip of her interview on orah was just shown on Entertainment Tonight. Yes, her father was the firt one to shoot her up with heroin. She says she did have sex with her father.

I'm not sure it it's just because of the way the editing of the short clip was spliced together, but it seemed to me to suggest that she voluntarily had sex with him in exchange for a drug hit. It's sick either way. But, to me, there's a difference in voluntarily exchanging sex for drugs (which some addicts do,) as opposed to being raped. But, again, it could have just been the way the edited preview was sliced together, and I don't have any more facts than that she says they had sex.

Either way, frankly, I've enough of all this "transparency" with every celebrity needing to tell us every detail about their lives. We already knew she was screwed up and for years. I don't need all the explanations, excuses or reasons.

Mackenzie Phillips, 49 will be on the Oprah show tomorrow, and Valerie Bertinelli will join the show to give her old co-star much needed support. Mackenzie Phillips talks about being along in a room with Mick Jagger who told her he was waiting for this since she was 10. She also mentions that her dad (John Phillips from the Mama’s and Papa’s) was the first one to shoot her up. And on the Oprah show, Mackenzie will reveal her family secret she’s kept for 31 years. In August of 2008, she was busted for cocaine possession, and this will be her first interview since that bust.

Mackenzie Phillips has a new book, High on Arrival coming out tomorrow, and according to People magazine, the secret that Mackenzie Phillips will reveal to Oprah tomorrow is that she slept with her own father on the night before her wedding 31 years ago.

She does reveal to Oprah that her father was the one who first got her high, and he even shot her up for the first time. She says he missed the vein the first time too and her arm went completely numb.

I think that's correct, but my understanding is that he made that comment about waiting since she was 10. How sick is that? The people and circumstances this girl was surrounded by go a long way towards explaining why she's had such a difficult life.

Either way, her father took advantage of her. He got her addicted to drugs and then used and manipulated her. Our parents are those we should most be able to trust, but her situation was just sick, sick, sick. It's just my opinion, but if it helps her work through everything she's had to deal with, I don't see anything wrong with her writing a book. JMHO
