Just returned from our first cruise a few days ago and couldn't tell how great it was. Thank God that we had great weather and a great vacation. Would love to share with you all our trip, starting from the day before boarding the Wonder.

Prelude – From Toronto to Orlando

Couldn’t believe the long-waited holiday finally came! We first flew from Toronto to Chicago and then from Chicago to Orlando. With 6 kids and 6 adults, we felt like we were a gang. We could tell that the kids had so much fun traveling together. It’s not the first time for anyone of them to be flying so they all behaved well and caused no troubles to the other passengers.

After a plane switch in Chicago, we reached Orlando at around 10:00 and arrived at MCO Hyatt at about 10:45 pm. Checking in was a breeze and it just took 2 minutes. We were assigned room 9035. We booked all 3 rooms thru priceline for $ 38 per night. What a great deal! When we checked in, we told them we were going on the Disney cruise the next day. We were given an envelope inside which you would find a letter to the DCL guest. The letter explains what you should do with your luggage that you would like DCL to bring it to the ship. It does not say that you have to purchase the DCL transfer at all.

One of the paragraphs quotes:
“As an added service, DCL has provided complimentary luggage service to Port Canaveral on the day of your departure. Please place your bags outside your door with your Disney Cruise Line tags placed on them to ensure proper delivery to your next destination. “

We were a bit worried about putting the luggage outside our room. We spoke to the DCL representative early the next morning at around 8:15 am and he said we could take the luggage down to him. So we all took our luggage down the next day before 8:30 and have everything shipped to the cruise.

We also found that similar service is provided to those people who are heading to any WDW resort.

We felt that we were well taken care of by DCL even the day before we got there. So, we all had a wonderful sleep that night and were ready for the day of embarkation!

Thanks for your report! We are going to book our very first cruise in May for next April, 2005 on the Wonder. I have a question about the luggage. You said DCL will deliver your luggage from any DW resort...we are staying at OKW for two nights prior to cruise but are not taking the DCL buses. Will they still deliver the luggage or are we responsible for it?

According to the letter from DCL, they would do it. IS OKW part of the Disney World Resort?

Coz' We did not buy the DCL transfer either. Yet DCL still did it for us at MCO Hyatt.

ok, thanks. Yes, Old Key West is part of Disney property. It is one of the DVC Resorts and we are members.

Thanks for your report, LittleTwinStars!

I never knew you could use Priceline from Canada - I'll check it out next time!
