Well, I have decided to come out of the shadows of Lurkdom and start to write a TR. I am anxiously counting down the days to the highly anticipated FALL BREAK vacation with 13 glorious WDW days ahead of us.

If you couldn't already tell with my salivation over Fall Break, is YES I am a teacher. A high school one at that. I teach high school Junior English and Junior AP English. I know I am crazy. My name is Kristen MacKenzie or kmac for short. I am 38 and I am a closet disney addict.

My DH I'm sure is a Disney addict too he just won't admit it. He is a police officer and way to manly to admit such things. However, with that being said he has two DD. DD11 who thinks she is 20 and DD5 who is convinced she really is a princess. SO being surrounded with Mac Diddies (or women/girls) and spoiling us rotten involves WDW he will gladly put on a Mickey shirt, pack up his manly gear, and carry around a princess wand after DD5 doesn't want to carry it anymore.

Our Disney history goes back insanely far. My husband's family worked for Disneyland forever. His dad was actually one of the lucky kids who went to Disneyland the first day it opened. His grandmother still lives in their original house in Anaheim. His Dad worked for Disneyland as an engineer for 35 years before he passed away, his mother retired from Disneyland, and his uncle has worked there for 37 years. They are lifers.

I worked at Disneyland on the college program and my husband worked there in high school. And of course we met at ........ Nordstrom. None of us could afford to live in good ole Cali without a second job so there you have it we became Nordies too. But you can't live the college lifestyle forever, so we moved back to AZ where I am from and got married. 17 years and 2 kids later we have been to WDW at least 10 times (including our honeymoon). Our honeymoon was the very first time we had ever been to Disney World and it was fantastic. This will be DD5's 4th trip (her dad spoils her more than the rest of us.) THe first trip when she was just 6 weeks old.

Even though we have been plenty of times before it doesn't stop me from counting down the days, making and remaking reservations, agonizing over planning decisions, make packing lists, try to pack 3 weeks early (until my DH puts his foot down), and fantically reading the DIS boards. I thougt I should start to write because then I actually have a purpose and my DH won't think I am off my rocker.

So according to the white board on my classroom door it is 11 DAYS LEFT TO FALL BREAK!

Up next the massive itinerary...Or the EPIC of planning

If you want to skip directly to the trip or chapters....

What do you all think?

:3dglassesJust created a photo bucket account in anticipation of the sharing of many fantastic WDW pics I will be taking!! Plus the cast of characters SOON!!

It certainly sounds like you've got things all thought out.

There are quite a few restaurants on your list that we have tried and really really enjoy:

1) Hoop Dee Doo;
2) Sci-Fi;
3) Coral Reef;
4) 50's Prime Time.

I will anxiously await your reviews of the others. We have thought about booking ADRs at Kona, Ohana and Yak & Yeti.

Oh I almost forgot to mention that we are CBR lovers through and through. We fell in love with the resort from the minute we stepped onto the resort grounds 5 years ago. We have stayed there 5 years in a row and already have stay 6 booked for 2011.

I am so excited to stay at CBR. We stayed there about 6 yrs ago, just for a couple of days, when I was there for a conference. So I didn't get to see much of the hotel. This time I hope to take advantage of the pool!!! :beach:

The new pool is awesome. I read a day or so ago that one of the slides is closed because of a leak but I think they said it should be back open soon.

If you have time, rent a surrey bike from the CBR marina. We had so much fun and laughed so hard when my flip flop got caught on the pedal and went flying over my shoulder. But, we are a bunch of sillies so I am sure nobody else would have laughed at it.

Soooooo... I had planned to get up my cast of characters and some planning up last night but I just couldn't stop myself from watching GLEE! I love it! I love it so mych I am singing right now. I teach high school and I am sure everyone just breaks out into song over all their teenage angst here. hahahah

So as I have said before..I am Kristen or kmac and I am a 38 year old ENglish teacher is severely in need of Fall Break and especially Fall Break in Disneyworld. :cool1:

As you can see I am wearing a Diet Coke t-shirt because I am DIET COKE AHOLIC! I am rarely seen in photos without one in my hands. My fifth hour class swears instead of a socratic seminar one of these days they will hold an intervention. As some people on these boards have a quest for coffee, I will be searching our Diet Coke every morning and I am sure to be less than pleasant until I have one.:sad2::surfweb:

Next up is Scot the DH or Mac. He pretends that I am the only one crazy about Disney vacations, but I know he is just pretending hahaha. He even made us shirts for this vacation so I am not fooled. I will post on those later. Lately he thinks I am a little bit crazy, especially since I made him run interference at Home Depot while I grabbed a stack of lime green mickey heads. He is the Dad of two princess daughters and he loves every minute of it. He had not had a girl in his family for five generations and he was so convinced he would have boys the first thing he said when he found out they were girls was "I need a Beer" But he is an awesome girl dad. And he will wear crowns and go to dance recitals with the best of them. We love him.

I didn't know they did that there! We have rented before at the boardwalk and had so much fun. We will def do that then. Of course I will so wait til my husband it with us, becuase I know I would end up pedaling all by myself with the little Macdiddies :rotfl2:

So on to introductions of the Macdiddies...

DD11 is the diva of the group. SHe is 11 going on 17 and thinks the world is her oyster. She wants to pretend she is way "too cool" for Disney but we all know the truth. Half of that is our fault. We have been taking her to Disneyland since the minute she was born, so she has been spoiled that way (benefits of still having in laws who work there) But with WDW you can tell the cool exterior is cracking becuase she keeps asking me where we are going to eat. Her little 68 pound body can pack away a mean meal. :rotfl:

Here is DD11

This leads me to DD5. If she was any princess she would be snow white, although she would tell you Belle. She is so happy go lucky without a care in the world. She diligently sits with me while I plan and watch the videos, whereas her sister taking cue from DH says "whatever you want Mom"

DD5 is full of one liners. The last one was describing something of great importance to her I am sure but she told me she could "smell it with her own eyes" :rotfl2:

So, in my insanity as I previously mentioned...I made my husband run cover last night so that I could fleece some greeny mickey paint chiprs from Home Depot. I taped and laminated and wrote my screen name on all of them. I am really hoping I see some of you DISboarders out there!! How fun would that be! This is just my first project, I plan to work on mousekeeping envelopes next. How many do you leave for a 12 night trip? SHould you leave a tip everyday and how much? :hmghost:

Here is my awesome Mickey Dooney an Bourke... I love it and my evidence of the crime...

After I was done laminating and making them pretty...

My son is always the lookout man when I go to Home Depot in my quest to get more Mickey heads. :laughing:

Love the Dooney and Burke purse. So adorable!

I usually tip mousekeeping every day. I know that we have had different mousekeepers during our 10 day stays.

SO my girls being the divas that they are were really interested in the pirates league versus the BBB. So I have made a reservation for both of them on the day we visit the MK after we eat breakfast at CRT. Does anyone have thoughts or experiences. I have heard they lowered the price to 29.95 so I am thinking it sounds like a great deal in Disney standards....:rotfl:

There's a lady who posts on my trip report (dismagiclover) who took her children to do the pirate makeover. She also did it! She got me to thinking that I may want to do it with my son next year. I can find the link to her report if you'd like for me to post it.

That would be great! Def post it. It looks like so much fun. And fits right along with the whole CBR... How much do you tip each day?

I usually tip $1 a day per person. But, we are pretty neat travelers. Let me go find the link to dismagiclovers report. I'll be back.

Aren't her kids the cutest! Now you see why I was thinking about doing it myself.

You should come join me and my Dis friends on my latest trip report. It's the "Who Knew Choking...." report. You can tell from the names of my last two reports that we are a "lively" bunch of folks. My first trip report was entitled "Where's My Tooth?".

I love the Disboards. I have met so many wonderful people here.
