I have a quite picky 6 year old. Can anyone give me some input on the mac n cheese at some of the different restaurants.

Do they do stouffers at most of the buffets? Is any of it similar to Kraft?

How about at the California Grill?

Thanks for any help you can give me :flower3:

The mac & cheese on most of the buffets isn't bad. Don't know if it is Stouffer's or not. It seems a bit different than what is served at Liberty Tree Tavern (which *is* Stouffer's).

I've NEVER run across any mac and cheese that resembled Kraft.

Mac & Cheese served at most of the Signature Restaurants tends to be a little different.

At the signature's is it made with different types of cheeses? To my 6 year old it needs to be orange :confused3

Maybe we shoulf steer her towards the pizza at CG (pizza can have white cheese - go figure)

I saw a show a while back that talked about the mac & cheese at WDW (I believe it was the stuff served at the buffets). They actually assembled a panel of kids and had them sample and rate various versions of mac & cheese that different chefs made. The winning version is the recipe that is used, according to the show.

At a signature restaurant, you *may* get a chef who concocts his own Mac & Cheese but maybe not.

You will not find the orange stuff at Disney.

I can't ever remember seeing anything that looked like Kraft either. And my DD, now 16, still loves Kraft. But once we got her to try the Disney varieties, she definitely approved of them. She went through a big mac & cheese phase when she was 4 or 5.

Boma and the Biergarten have orange Mac-n-cheese. Both are good, and if your daughter will eat hot dogs and bread, and maybe even fried chicken tenders, I would go to the Biergarten. You get free entertainment there too.

We have hit/miss mac n cheese a WDW. DD is particular and only liked a few Mac n Cheeses. AT Coral Reef she refused to eat it!

haha at almost 21 yrs old, I still am picky about my mac n cheese. it either has to be Kraft Blue Box Mac n Cheese, Velveeta Shells n Cheese, or Stouffers lol.. We ate at umm I dont remember the name of the restaurant.. thinking Gullivers?? not sure.. it was the buffet style restaurant inside the Swan (or was it Dolphin) with character dining (pluto and goofy) and the mac n cheese there was NOT something I would eat lol. Im glad to hear about the Stouffers at Liberty Tree. Stouffers is my fave :)

This thread caught my eye! My daughter will only eat the Michelina's wagon wheels and cheese you buy in the frozen section at the grocery store. She absolutley will not eat macaroni only wagon wheels. In some of the food pictures on this website I have noticed mac and cheese made with Mickey head shaped pasta. Where can you get that? I think she would eat that.

Has anyone tried the mac and cheese at California Grill? I love mac and cheese and I think I might have to try some when I go. I'm intrigued...:goodvibes

Last summer, we took my nephew and he only eats mac n' cheese too. He ate it everywhere. It always appearred to be more of the stouffer's variety. Creammy orange with elbow noodles. And he loved the one at coral reef :confused3 so you never know.
I believe the mac n' cheese was universally available all over. We never where not able to get it.

Good luck, mky:cutie:

It's definitely not Kraft dinner mac & cheese served anywhere in WDW. I guess it is more like Stouffer's only gooier. My kids didn't like it at all. It was like a lumpy glue glob....honestly! We stuck to pizza, burgers and chicken fingers for the kids....and lots of fruit.

It's very cheesy if that makes sense. My very picky 8 year old did not like it at all. I spent many dinners scraping the cheese sauce off the macaroni because in his words it was too goopy. It looks like really creamy light yellow cheese, and of course, my processed food loving non-vegetable eating vegetarian refuses to eat it.

DS got the Mickey shaped mac & cheese at Spoodles. He is a very picky eater and he loves the mac & cheese at Spoodles. It is definitely not Stouffer's or Kraft. The chef told me that he makes the cheese sauce fresh every day.

The mac n cheese is soupy like. My kids like Kraft but they wouldn't eat the mac n cheese at WDW. Good Luck!

Del:)

I LOVE Mac & Cheese! I know that the Plaza buffet has it out for dinner. Their Mac & Cheese is a bit soupy and it's definately not Kraft. It has a more milky, less cheesy taste. If you let it sit in a bowl for a while, it'll thicken and then the consistency is a little bit more like Kraft.
