Mac Book

May buy a Mac Book when we are out in Orlando, other than the tax and personal allowance issues, are there any technical issues (other than the charger) I should be aware of when buying a Mac in the USA? Has anybody done this?

There are no technical reasons - our Mac book is American.

With the charger you just need the 3 pin plug adapter and that will work too - as they are switch mode which means they work everywhere.

Yep they are the best imo , bit of a apple junkie got a ipod,iphone and ipad hopefully ipad 2 and mac book to follow.....

The only difference is that it will have an American keyboard not much difrent to the uk one but a little.

I got a mac book pro last year from dixsons in the airport worked out very cheap. If you look at dixsons website you can find out the price for what you want and even reserve it. They even shipped the box home for me.

The current prices for iPad2 wifi at Apple are 16Gb $499, 32Gb $599, 64Gb $699.
Never heard of military discounts but it will not hurt to ask

Those prices are pre tax but it's not much more with tax, we bought the MacBook air there last trip and saved a few £

We're a Mac family (iMac, 3 Macbooks, iPhone, 3 iPod, iPod) and DD bought a new Macbook last year when she was working for Disney. Saved quite a bit over the price here (even with the 15% discount we can get over here) The end of the power cable with the plug comes off and you can buy a 3 pin plug here to use if you want. DD couldn't believe it when he got back from Florida last week and her Macbook wouldn't turn on. Took it into the Genius bar in GLasgow and it was fixed under warranty (less than a year old) no questions asked.
