Are you thinking about school vacation, next April yet? Just wondering how many of you are out there that are obsessed as me. Are you planning on doing the 331 days in advance booking thing or are you going to wait for fare wars? Not that they'll be many when it comes to school vacations.
So are you going April 16th or earlier or later? We are thinking of the BCV's for one week, starting on the 16th. Booking probably with Song again. What are your plans? :D

We will have PAP's that will expire on April 26 or 27th so are planning on sneaking in our last trip on these passes (I have 2 others tenatively planned). Since we will staying on points, I am hoping to go in the lower point season which begins on 4/18 and there is the Flower and Garden Show also. I have been checking this years fares to compare for next year. We could go a week or two earlier but......Did you buy Song tickets for this April vacation on 331 days out. What did you pay? We do not have young children so we will not be travelling right on the start and end of vacation and the fares on Tuesday , Wed, Thursday are not too bad. So, yes there are others planning obsessively.

Song could be iffy! Song started service our of Wash. Dulles airport in September this year 2003, now they have announced that this service is ending on May 1 2004--barely 7 months after it began. We are so sad, because we loved this wonderful non-stop service. Seems they didn't make the profit they were hoping for, so poof, they are gone. I flew them 6 times within 5 months, so I felt I supported them. I commented to the "talent" while boarding last week that we are sad to see them go, and they said they were too. It was never given a chance in our area, no spring break or summer vacations. So, don't let what happened to us, happen to you. There are several folks that had flights booked on SONG for they after May 1 expiration, who have now been put on Delta "connecting" flights---ugh. Connecting flights for a 2 hour trip sucks. Luckily for me, I knew before booking my spring trip, and booked on United (the last non-stop carrier out of Dulles airport to Orlando). Good Luck.

Big fan of Jet Blue! We took them out of Logan in January and loved it. I am not too familiar with Song but I do know that you are not getting the best rate if you bbok a ticket a year in advance.

Well, we aren't going next april, but we are going next december. I have not booked air yet. Only Song and AA have released those dates so far. I think I will wait for Jetblue to release theirs and then compare.

I could have booked Song for december last month for $175, but I really didn't want to book that far in advance. (you never know what might come up  )

We're not going down again until Oct 2005 - so I'm sure everything will change by then. Sad to hear that about Song - n2mm, did they say the whole airline was going or just the Washington area?

For April vacation, we will absolutely go the 331 day route, and then cross our fingers that the schedule does not change that much. I don't think there is any chance of Delta (or in this case, their Song unit) abandoning the BOS-MCO route so I would feel fairly secure that we would have a flight at a reasonable time on the days we chose. Actually, I was thinking we would try to get the 1 or 2 skymiles tickets they issue for the days we'd be flying, and to get those for the 25,000 mile price you are pretty much forced to do it at 331 days.

Haramabe--only out of the Wash. DC area. Seems the profits are better elsewhere, plus they are trying other NEW routes currently.

Pumpkinboy--I thought that too. Before SONG began we enjoyed wonderful non-stop flights on Delta several times each day in and out, then SONG came in and took the exact same Delta flights. Now SONG is leaving and they are TAKING the Delta non-stop flights with them. We have always had non-stop flights on Delta out of Dulles, so I can only believe that once SONG took them over, Delta decided not to BRING back the original flights that were always there, under both the SONG and Delta names. Delta is still flying out of Dulles, but the ALL non-stop flights to MCO are now gone! We are hoping that they reinstate them once the May1st expiration date occurs. There are alot of unhappy campers who booked on Delta non-stop and have now been put on connecting flights.
