Departure days are the worst part of a Disney trip. At least yours was higlighted by what sounds like a very nice breakfast. I'll admit, I've never tried Captain Grille's before, but what appealed to me about the restaurant in your report is how empty the place was.
Places like CP and 1900 Park Fare are fun and convienent, but sometimes it's nice not to have 80,000 other guests crowding around the table or standing in the buffet lines.

I think if I ever stay at YC or BC I might have to give the restaurant a chance.:goodvibes

I'm glad you enjoyed your breakfast at Captain's Grille. We ate there in December and were not impressed (we did love our dinner there two nights previously though). Perhaps next time it would be best to try the buffet?

Your daughter looks like she knows you are going home and is NOT happy about it at all.

I had a lot of catching up to do.... looks like I'm in time to see you wrap this up.

I'm not a huge fish fan (I eat creepy and crawly seafood just not swimmy things) but I enjoy Coral Reef for the ambiance. We've been seated right next to the tank and in the 3rd tier booth and I prefer to sit a ways away to get the full view of the aquarium. I think you had an ideal seat. That's awesome that you DD enjoyed the meal and it didn't feel like a rush to get out before chaos breaks loose. ;)

That last evening is so sad.

We've done Captain's Grille many times and it is never crowded for breakfast. I agree, I think it's a hidden gem that doesn't get a lot of attention with not being in a park and no characters. You can't beat the convenience of breakfast there when you are staying in the Epcot area. I'm looking forward to eating breakfast there next week. :thumbsup2

You are exactly right -- it was peaceful in CG, which definitely was a nice change from some of our character breakfasts earlier in the trip!! :goodvibes

I was really impressed by the buffet selection -- it had the usual favorites, but also had some nice "different" items that we hadn't tried at other buffets! :thumbsup2

None of us were happy about leaving! :sad1:

Hope your trip is going fabulously -- can't wait to read about it!! :cool1:

I wouldn't mind if you added your cruise report onto this one. That being said, though, I'll read it no matter where you post it. :goodvibes Can't wait to hear all about your cruise. I've done a 7 night Western Caribbean on the Magic, and they are such fun. Not to mention, the Disney service is exceptional on DCL.
Hope you have a wonderful time on your trip and enjoy your night at POR.

Now that I've visited with my son, who's more in the toddler stage and less in the infant one, I have to agree with you on FP+. In retrospect, it's much easier to plan out your attractions and dinners at home whenever you can find a free minute. It makes going into the parks with a kid, a bag, a stroller, etc etc so much easier and less stressful. I almost feel like FP+ was designed specifically for parents with young kids. :rotfl:

Don't worry Julie, I have a hard time finishing a TR too. At the start I just want to post-post-post, then as it's winding down, not so much. :headache:

Also... ADD the new report here FOR SURE!!!!

Oh I agree. I love when it's raining on departure day. It does take the sting out just a little.

Thanks so much for sharing your trip. I'm totally looking forward to hearing about the upcoming CRUISE. :boat:

Julie, we've missed you, but understand not wanting to write that ending.

It's always good if you have to leave DW if it is raining when you do...makes it a tad more bearable.

I hope you have a fantastic time on your cruise and I look forward to reading all about it.

Thanks!! We cannot wait for our cruise!!

I hear a lot of unhappiness around FP+, so I figured I'd share our positive experience!

The new report will be coming soon --- we are SO excited to get on that cruise ship! And, I'm equally excited to spend 24 hrs on the WDW property -- even without visiting the parks! :goodvibes

Awww, thanks Kat! We're so excited, and can't wait to come back and share the experience! :goodvibes

A great trip for sure! Thank you for sharing it with us! I totally understand not wanting to wrap up the trip report... it makes the whole trip seem so final!
I'd love to hear about your cruise here! If not here, then please post the link :thumbsup2 It sounds lovely!
Well I have to say, a lot of things have made me want to try out the YC next year and your report is high among them. So gorgeous!
Have a great trip!!

Thanks so much for sharing your report with us!!

I totally understand in regard to life with a toddler ( plus I have a dramatic 5 year old) and how it is so nice just to go to Disney and concentrate on each other- making magical memories and leaving the stress of the world behind.

We will be at POR for two nights in 3 weeks! I hope you love it and I just know the cruise is going to be SO AWESOME! A Disney cruise is in my plans sometime in the next 2 years!

Have a magical trip Julie!

Have an amazing time with DCL!!! I hope you love it as much as we do. If so, you will end up spending a lot of money over the next few years..... :rotfl2:

Yay!! Can't wait to read all about it! We leave for POR on the 12th for a little quick trip! Glad you made it safely home.

I can't wait to hear all about your cruise!! EEEK!! Hope it was incredibly magical!! Did you book another cruise while on board?? :rotfl:

I really enjoyed this TR! You did a wonderful job! :goodvibes

I've been catching up on the DIS this week and noticed that we are subbed to many of the same TR's, so I decided to check out yours. I see you are done now and just got back from another trip/cruise. Nice!

Anyway - your daughter is adorable. I've read your first two days in the world.

Beautiful view from your YC room. Just lovely. I'm DVC so, unfortunately, I'll probably never get to stay there. But I always enjoy reading about it.

I'm also enjoying your pics so far. Nice composition on so many of them.

Looking forward to reading the rest of your report!

It was great!! We didn't book another cruise...maybe we should have? But, I think we'd like to do another WDW visit next!

Thanks for joining in!! I'm curious about DVC...we seem to be regular visitors to WDW, and I'm beginning to wonder about it....

But, YC was really wonderful! We really haven't met a resort we haven't like yet though -- they all some their own unique features!

Thanks so much for sharing your trip with us! I really enjoyed following you along! Can't wait to hear about your next adventure!
