M.E. yellow tag ?

We've used M.E. several times in the past ... so I'm familiar with how that works.

However, I wondered if there is anything "special" and "unique" about the yellow tags -- are they 'coded' for a particular person and/or a particular flight.

Here's the scoop. We leave next Tuesday. We all have our yellow m.e. tags.

However, my son who lives in California is now joining us (we live in Va). We were able to get two rooms ... and he has the transportation arranged for M.E. but I doubt there's any way he'll be able to get the yellow tag in time. However, I could overnight one of our tags to him if there is no real difference ... does anyone know? We are staying at the same resort and arriving on the same day.

Are the yellow tags used simply for the baggage handlers at Orlando airport to identify as a bag going to a particular resort?

Thanks in advance..

The yellow tags are linked to the reservation, so the bags will be delivered to the room. Your son doesn't need a yellow ME tag for Disney to take care of his bags though. All he needs to do is check in at the ME desk, give the CM there his luggage claim tickets and a brief description of the bags, they can handle it from there. Just make sure son is on the ME reservation, ME cannot be used without a reservation made before arrival.

Yes, you an overnight him the tag and he can use it. His bag will go to your room but that's not an issue.

we've used DME when the tags didn't arrive a few times.
easy-breezy :) just go to the DME desk, give them the baggage claim stubs and a brief description of the bags, and they'll be in the room later.

You can also call ME and ask them if they can overnight a tag to your son. A friend of mine hadn't received her ME packet by just a few days before their trip. She called and they overnighted the packet with the luggage tags to her house.
