M&A rumor...let's hope not.

I would love to hear your ideas of what Disney could do to make IOA a decent park......

First, just up the overall cleanliness and maintenance. There shouldn't be anything visibly broken/in ill repair. I saw several things that way in IOA.

Second, hide all the warehouses (except in comic city). I shouldn't be able to see the warehouse that is Hogwarts FJ ride. 20 minutes of my time spent in line (90 minutes) was spent staring at the warehouse.

Third, stop selling beer in ride queues.

Fourth, eliminate current Express pass, and go to Disney style FastPass. The Express Pass just makes standby lines unbearable (unless of course you fork out the extra money for it).

They're actually not really broken at all. They're simply designed to accomplish goals and objectives that are perhaps different from the goals and objectives that some folks in this thread would prefer to impose on the parks.

Like cleanliness and enjoyment.

There are trip reports on the Disney side of the boards talking about all the trash seen at WDW so not quite sure Disney could do better at Universal. Also plenty of people report maintenance issues at WDW too so.....

I haven't seen the warehouses from WWoHP but I agree with your point. If HP is supposed to be immersive, you shouldn't be able to see anything from the "outside" world.

Not really sure selling beer is a huge issue since I don't drink. But if there is money to be made, I'm sure Disney wouldn't change that practice.

Universal used to have the free Express Plus pass but the lines got too long so they got rid of it. I think the last year was in 2005 or 2006. I liked the free EP better than FP simply because you could pick your return time unlike Disney that assigns you a time. The problem I have with FP is the fact that Disney doesn't enforce the return times if you're after the return on the pass. What's the point of having a return time on the pass if you can walk up anytime and ride?

Other than the warehouse issue, I don't see where Disney would do a lot for Universal. I was hoping you would mention more detailed items like ride technologies or attraction themeing for example instead of cosmetic issues that Disney has at WDW too.

Wow- you must have had a terrible experience. :sad1:

Honestly, living here and going all the time I see enough benefit to Universal to have a yearly pass there instead of WDW. It seems like your mind is made up and I certainly don't want to start trouble but I hope you give Universal another shot soon. They really have a lot to offer. I'm sorry you had a bad trip with them.

And with that I am officially :offtopic: back to Comcast!

There are things like that too at Disney.

True, I do hate that you can see the show building for FJ in the WWoHP and in Jurassic Park. I wish there was something to cover it more. You can see Disney's ride show buildings too. EE, Soarin' just to name a couple.

Third, stop selling beer in ride queues.

I agree but it makes money.

I wish they go back to this too.

Either that or employing hyperbole to try to defend an appraisal that is actually far more negative than the experience really warranted.

Every park has an off day. I totally believe he / she could have had a rotten day and given up on Universal. There have truly been days when I would have thrown my hands up and walked out of WDW. If that was my only experince I wouldn't think it was a great place.

I just want perdidochas to know that Universal is worth another try. :goodvibes
