Lynn & Tim TR Oct 1-8.UPDATE 4/3 UPDATED. COMPLETE

Just found this!! You will be leaving the day I arrive, but you'll be there for my birthday (the 7th!!)

Hi, Lynn!!:wave2: I'm so excited to have found your pre-trippie!:dance3: I know you are so excited about the trip. You are so close!!
Okay, I know you aren't going to believe me but when you were talking about MNSSHP, and what you wanted to dress up as, I immediately thought, "She HAS to be Ariel!!" So when I got to the next installment and saw that you were thinking about being her I was so excited!!! I think it would be cool if you could find a costume of her gown. It's rare that you see her in it, so I think that would be cool...But I'm thinking that may be hard to find.

Anyway...Your plans look so fun! I know you are going to love Chef Mickey's. We've been there for dinner on both our trips and loved it, but want to try it for breakfast next time!!

Can't wait to read more!:thumbsup2

Hi there! Great pre-trippie so far!

You look so much like Ariel, I'd have to vote for her, but Darla is a pretty cool idea too! If a mermaid costume of Ariel is hard to find, maybe you could look for a human costume?? Then again, that might be harder to find! :confused3

I'm following you over here from your wedding TR! O.K., I know that most people say you should dress up like Ariel, and you would make a beautiful Ariel, but I think that Darla is frickin hilarious! Of course it's your choice, but I'm voting for Darla.
I'm so jealous about DVC. I want to own so bad, but it's not in the pocket book right now. I'm looking forward to following along your PTR

I know the Darla costume would be funny lol!! Hopefully you get buy DVC soon..I was surprised at how affordable it can be so look into it.

I wish I could wear my wedding dress in the park because I would use that for my costume. I can't find her dress anywhere for an adult. The best costume I could find is the one I posted.

I'm sure we will love Chef Mickeys!

Hi! You guys have no idea how much I have searched for the perfect ariel costume! It's so hard to find.

You know sometimes we are so excited to go to Disney just for the food lol!

Sonny really is a special CM and we never would have imagined that something like that would happen!

Thank you for reading guys :)

Food is the most important part of ANY vacation! :rotfl: I started with 3 ADRs. Now I have like 12? lol

I am sure that no matter what you go as, you will be darling! Can't wait to see what it's gonna be! What is Tim going as?

I absolutely love the Darla idea. This year is the first time in four years that I will not be working at MK during MNSSHP and I have seen a lot of costumes go by during those years. I can't recall ever seeing anyone dressed as Darla and the fact that you have the braces is great. I love the fish in a bag idea.

I do recall last year seeing a girl in the blue dress Ariel wears as a human and it was awesome to see because Disney always has her in her mermaid outfit, or a fancy dress that tries to match her mermaid colors. So it would be fun if you did that. It's a fairly simple dress, solid blue skirt black corset over a long sleeved white or light blue top, add a big blue hair bow. Done.
Or you could get some fabric and rope and a stuffed sheep dog or scuttle and be her when she first gets legs lol.

Also the no wedding attire rule is lifted for the Halloween party, so if you wanted to bring your dress back down you could wear it. :thumbsup2

Hi Lynn,

I followed you over here from the wedding boards and saw you were looking for an Ariel costume...Disney Shopping online has her as a mermaid for 79.50. It is similar to the one you posted, but it does not have the fabric on her hips. I also liked the idea of the pervious poster who suggested Ariel as a human...or even better wearing your wedding gown again...you could be ariel when she got married :)

I noticed you have a LARGE collection of pins between you and your DH...I also collect pins and got an idea off of the board a while back...to display the pins clearly and all year...get a large bulletin board (or more than one if need be) and cut felt the size of the board...attach the felt to the board, then display the pins on the felt. I have found boards at ikea, michaels, and ac moore. The felt I purchased on clearance from joann fabrics. I have found that shades of blue (usually darker) bring out the most color in the pins...just an idea :)

HI!!! Ok you work for disney?? I sooo want to work for disney!!! Tim and I plan on moving to the orlando area within the next 2 years...I'm a hair stylist and Tim is a mechanic so hopefully we will be able to find a job down there. I would love to work at Disney World:lovestruc  So how would I look into working in one of the salons at Disney? Do I contact casting? Tim and I plan on stopping by casting on one of our off days in Disney. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

I have seen that costume on cosplay.com, it does look easy to make!! That is a great idea! I'm tempted to go as Darla..we shall see lol!

If my dress was not as heavy as it is...I so would wear it again. It's too much to waer in the park lol..it would get destroyed...oh well lol!!

Hey :) that is a great idea about the pins!!! I could so do that when we buy a house and I get to have my disney room:worship: :goodvibes

So what you all think? Go as pretty Ariel or crazy Darla LOL.

I say go as Darla, it will be the most original. Coming over from your wedding TR. Not to be silly but is that done? If it is not I don't want to delete my subscription but if it is I will. I started collecting pins as well. I cannot wait to go to Disney to buy more.

Hi! You guys have no idea how much I have searched for the perfect ariel costume! It's so hard to find.

Same here! I am thinking about doing the blue dress. It seems pretty easy, but I am torn with Ariel or Giselle in her curtain dress.

Darla is hilarious!!!

Have you tried buycostumes.com? They have some really cute & reasonably priced costumes. Happy hunting.

Well I used to go to the Yacht Club to get my hair cut. The salons on property are all run by Niki Bryan, not by Disney. I remember from talking with the girls there that they don't get most of the fun benefits that Cast members do. I believe they got into the parks but could not get guests in. I still have the business card from when i went to the salon at Coronado, their number is 407-939-3965 if you want to call and ask them about working there.
The number for Casting is 407-828-1000 and they can tell you all about available positions. I know when you go in Casting they have one line for appointments and one line for those just walking in, and it can sometimes be a long wait without an appointment so I suggest calling.
There are other jobs besides the salons that you might be interested in, like backstage stuff, or the barber shop on Main Street maybe.

Let me know if you have any more questions. :)

Thank you soooo much!!! The backstage stuff sounds fun!!!! So does the barber shop on Main St!!! That would be so cute. I didn't know you could make an appointment.

GO AS DARLA! GO AS DARLA! I didn't even think about the fish in the bag:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I say Darla all the way!

Oh gosh now you all have me leaning towards Darla HAHA!!! My friend Erin who is coming with us has scrubs, she is a nurse, so I figured she could be the dentist lol.

I love Giselle's curtain dress!!! I was also thinking about being her.

Have you tried buycostumes.com? They have some really cute & reasonably priced costumes. Happy hunting.

Yeah they have a ton!!!!!

I don't know who that Tim guy is.... but he sure does have some sweet pins.:scared1:

Your a dork :lmao:

Your welcome :goodvibes

There's definitely a bunch of options for you, they can probably answer most of your questions over the phone, especially if you don't actually want to apply for a position until a few years from now. However the Casting building is pretty so I don't blame you if you want to go check it out lol

Oh and you two should go on the Mickey's Magical Milestones tour. I used to give it and it made me fall in love with Donald! Can't promise that whoever you would get would talk as much about Donald as I did, but I think you would have fun!

And now I want to find a Giselle curtain dress for when I go to MNSSHP on Oct 4th!

haha. Ok back to your pre-trip report! :donald:

great start :thumbsup2 we are going to MNSSHP on the 2nd also...
btw...i vote for Darla
