Luxury OFF-SITE resorts?

The Gaylord Palms is absolutely gorgeous. Its owned by the same people who have the Opryland Hotel in Nashville.

If I were to stay off-site, I would stay at the Hyatt Grand Cypress. It was features on Samantha Brown's show, Great Hotels. The pool area was awsome!

Renaissance over by Sea World, Gaylord Palms, The Peabody, The Bohemian downtown.

A friend of mine recently returned from this resort and just raved about it. He has stayed on Disney property many times in the Deluxe Resorts and insists that none of the WDW resorts compares to the Grand Cypress. He also claims the pool, golf and horseback riding are second to none.

I have not stayed at this resort, nor have I stayed on Disney property. We will be staying at WL this December and am looking forward to it. Enjoy!:wave2:

The JW Marriott and The Ritz are located together. Both are very nice.

I was there for a meeting. (Not to go to WDW....I of course would have stayed on site for Disney...LOL) ::yes::

I really liked Universal's PortoFino Bay! ;) We had the same villa room Samantha Brown had. :hyper:

Orlando area also has: a Peabody, Ritz, etc...and all major resorts.

One bonus for Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress is that it has a helicopter landing pad in case you are being dropped off by your private helicopter ;)

But really, they have an equestrian center and my little DD is really into horses. Any one have info on this? How much would it be to ride?

I'd like to add the Marriott Grande Vista. 5 star, luxury/mediterranean style resort - gorgeous.

Also, another great one is Sheraton Vistana Villages, very luxuriously decorated and kept well inside and out.

These are the only 2 we've been to and would recommend again.

Lorix, LOL I read your post before I saw who the poster was and I thought gee ANOTHER person with the same taste as me! But then I remembered I had said that to you before! Still true though. Now you have to try the restaurants on Sandlake Road. I think you like those too.

We have just returned(last week) from a 4 night stay at JWMarriott/Ritz. It was FABULOUS!!! We stayed at the JWM but you have priveleges at both resorts. The pool at JWM is great and has a beautifully designed lazy river that the children AND adults loved! We had stayed the previous week in a luxury villa 5 minutes from Disney. The resort is 20 minutes away from Dis and could be a problem if you wanted to return for rest/downtime during day and return to park later. All in all, it was one of the nicest resort we have ever seen or stayed in!!!( We were traveling with other couple who do not have children and travel extensively and they concurrred)!!

For info on the equestrian services at the Hyatt Grand Cypress go to www.grandcypress.com. The stables are at the villas of Grand Cypress which is down the road from the Hyatt.

I am so excited to hear that. We are booked for the RC club level and are really looking forward to it. Not doing much execpt Discovery Cove and the Halloween Party. WE will really mostly be relaxing at the resort. Sounds great.

We've also stayed there and loved it. I would highly reccomend it. The atrium is something to see.
