Lux Lyft vs pre arranged shuttle

I have gone to Disneyland in many different ways via many different routes, but I’ve never landed at LAX without some kind of transportation set up yet.

We, 2 adults and 3 kids (without a car seat need), will be arriving next Thursday evening, at LAX and will need some sort of transportation to get to our hotel on Harbor Boulevard.

A Lux Lyft XL (curbside) is looking to be about $190 +/- each way
But I’m worried about all the luggage in a Lyft. 4 suitcase and quite a few carry ons.
Do Lyft XLs have room for luggage usually? Can we count on that?

The shuttle option that sounds good (because of the curbside pick up) is PrimeTime and it’s about $132 +/- each way
They hold 7 people and 9 suitcases

I guess I’m looking for suggestions on which one? I like the spontaneity of the Lyft, in the sense of just being able to call exactly when they are ready to take one either way. I think the shuttle sounds like a good option based on price and space but it worries me a little bit to set one up in case is a flight delay or something.

Looking for suggestions!

Normally shuttle companies/private car services will ask for flight info as well so they can easily check for delays.

I would assume LAX is same way. I'm local in SoCal but have taken a few private cars in Vegas and they always obtain flight info and are waiting at baggage claim no matter what time my flight actually arrives.
(unless it was a major cancellation or delay I would call ahead to ensure car is still reserved)

Did some homework

Lansky: $177 each way

Midwilshuttle: $160 each way

Karmel: $126.50 each way

I don’t want to just pick the cheapest.
Which might be the pick?

Also, Shuttle sure do want to pick you up early for the return to the airport don’t they?
Our outbound flight is at 1:10pm

Karmel suggested 9:55am pick up to airport

We have been happy with MidWilShuttle for several trips now for SNA and LGB. Given the distance, LA traffic, and the size of LAX, the proposed time doesn’t seem hugely early to me. (We once sat in a traffic jam near LAX entrance for 10-15 minutes.) But I prefer to be early rather than stressed.

Personally I get a rental car. I would much rather have my fate in my own hands plus I always love to hit the outlets whenever I travel.

Good to know! I’m feeling good about them

I’ve looked a little more and I’m feeling like I’m probably going to go with PrimeTime Shuttle
Their website is so easy to navigate, I like the price and the vehicle options and the curbside pick up

Any recent reviews?

EDIT: just read reviews if Primetime on TripAdvisor. Now I will not be booking with them!

We'll likely be going with Lanksy again for airport pickup on our upcoming trip as although MidWilShuttle is slightly cheaper, less than $20 isn't enough to push us to switch.

For me personally, I no longer under any circumstances use Lyft/Uber for airport pick ups after having a Lyft/Uber driver drop me off in the middle of a Disney parking structure after driving around aimlessly lost for more than 30 minutes. I had to take a tram to get to the entrance and it cost me more than an hour at the park.

We don't usually travel with much (if any) baggage, so for us we do Lanksy for pickup, and when we're ready to leave the park/hotel, we call a Lyft/Uber.

We had a good experience with Lansky, but the next time we called, we found out they weren’t available for very early morning pickups. MidWilShuttle was, so we switched and have stuck with them since.

We had a poor experience getting picked up at SNA with drivers who couldn’t find the designated ride-share area and left us standing for quite awhile. One ended up accusing us of being in the wrong place (we weren’t) and cancelled on us. I’d rather just pay the money for a nicer ride.

Can you shed some insight about the reviews you read? Right now Prime Time Executive SUV for 2 people with 4 pieces of luggage curbside pickup seems to be the most economical. Going from LAX to a resort on Harbor Blvd near DL.

Question for those who went with MidWilShuttle, did they add in required gratuity to your upfront bill?

Just got Lanksy's invoice and they added in a required 20% tip, which was not their policy a couple years ago.

I haven't used Midwil since Oct '22, but at that time it wasn't required. I tipped in cash at drop off.

I just paid my bill for Midwilshuttle for an upcoming trip. there was an option to tip ahead of time (no requirement) I tipped 15% but will top it up with cash if all goes well.

I went ahead and cancelled Lanksy and have asked for a Midwilshuttle quote. With the required tip, Lanksy is more than double what a Lyft would be.
