Does anyhone ever pack their own lunch for a day or maybe two, to take to the park? Is this allowed? Sure would help when you have nice dinner reservations for 5 nights...

We haven't done this, but when we were there 2 weeks ago -

We had to use the locker's to store the backpack at MK - my back was done for the day:rolleyes: anyway, this was around lunchtime and there was a family sitting on the benches at the lockers enjoying a lunch out of a mini-cooler. They were out of the sun and crowds and seemed pretty relaxed munching their grapes and sandwiches.

Just remember to keep cold stuff cold - don't want food poisoning on vacation! I'd stick to basic stuff that won't go bad.

Have fun!

If you want to save some extra dollars lunch at the nice restaurants is cheaper, check out the menu's and prices on wdwig.com. have a great time.

Yes, at MK you can. They will only allow the small lunch type coolers that will fit in the lockers. No glass or alcohol is allowed. It is a great way for large familles to save some money.

Technically, I think it's frowned upon. Theoretically, we do it all the time  Even when they've gone through our cooler at security, they have never said anything. We find out of the way, quiet places and enjoy what we've brought. What I've found is the perfect treat are Smucker's Uncrustables (pb&j's). They thaw out just in time for lunch. Kept in the cooler in a gladware container they are perfect! We bring in a pack of pringles, some cookies, grapes, water. With kids it's a great solutions because sometimes that one extra line is what sets them over the edge ;)

My in-laws do it all the time, too, but they just bring sandwiches and waterbottles. I don't think Disney will let you bring in a big cooler full of food and drinks, but a small lunch or snacks will get by.

www.disney.com specifically states that a cooler that can be safely carried is allowed. However, no glass or alcoholic beverages may be brought into the parks. So, you should be fine with a lunch box sized softsided cooler.

disneyag...I believe they are speaking of the water parks. If you are refering to the FAQ's on the website...

Q. May I bring my own food and beverages in to the Water Parks?

A. Coolers of a size that may be safely carried are permitted. No glass containers or alcoholic beverages allowed. There are no storage areas for coolers.

As for the theme parks...I do believe they are not condoned, but I am not sure if they are specifically prohibited.

That is correct. The website specifically states it is for waterparks. With that being said I've seen plenty of people bring in small coolers. I wouldn't bring in lunch but we have brought in fruit snacks and goldfish crackers.
