Lunch or Dinner when we arrive?

I generally choose dinner ADRs for our trip but with us only having a halfday on a Saturday when we arrive, I am trying to figure what will give us the the most time. I am thinking we will arrive about 12-1 and then need to check-in to get our tix. By that time it should be around 2 I am guessing. We will hit MK that day and I would have loved Chef Mickeys for the characters, but it is completely booked up right now, so.....I am trying to decide whether to eat after we arrive or wait and eat later that evening. We have the basic DP and want to use our TS for each day we are there.

So, what would be the best use of our time... lunch to get it "out of the way" or dinner for later in the evening..?

If you are going to be at the MK and want a character meal, what about the one at the Grand Floridian? I don't recall ever hearing about that one getting booked up fast.

If you don't mind using 2 TS credits, the Hoop-dee-Do Review is a great way to start a WDW vacation and is just a boat ride from the MK.

@VAN Thank you for your response! I have been checking 1900 Park Fare at the GF but it is booked up for our party size of 5. I will keep checking! I have all my res. for the rest of the week but I may check into the Hoop Dee .. I don't know anything about it. Thanks again!

Have you tried Crystal Palace? It's right in MK and has Winnie the Pooh and friends. If you have kid's it might be hard to pull them right out of the park after only a few hours.

The other thing you can try is checking for an ADR for 6 people. Sometimes the ADR system doesn't like odd numbers. Don't do it for places like HDDR, CRT, Akershus, etc that require a CC hold as they will charge you for the extra person that didn't show up. CM, 1900 Park Fare and CP don't require a CC hold so they are fine to book an extra person at the table. Chances are you would be seated at a table for 6 anyway.
