DH will finally be home for good late 12/21 and DS dismisses from school at noon on 12/22. Finally--we get to do the tree! I figure DH and I can drop DS off at school then go out and get the tree. We can stand it up and get it ready to decorate. Maybe DH can get the lights on it while I pick DS up from school.

So today I get to thinking--we could really use a bit of a party to get us in the holiday mood. Any thoughts on a lunch that I can do ahead and that we can snack on while we decorate?

Thanks!

why don't you either buy some appetizer type stuff from the grocery or make some?

cheese, pepperoni, crackers, potato skins, wings.. that type of stuff.

and maybe have some spiced cyder simmering and ready to go as well.

I always like to serve eggnog while decorating the tree. But a lot of people don't care for it. I think I'd make a nice punch (eggnog or something else) and then go to Costco and get some of their turkey roll-up sandwich things!

We always do an appetizer thing for our tree decorating night. I make Chex Mix, cocktail weenies in barbeque sauce, meatballs in chili sauce/grape jelly combo, frozen bagel things from Costco, apple cider on the stove, egg nog for those who like that, cookies, nuts, etc.

Just let your imagination run wild. Get things your son and husband like, but you don't get very often. Have fun!
